  • Re: Beolab 28

I agree. I listened to them twice today in Harrods excellent listening room. Both myself and my even more sceptical wife were very impressed by them. Next to them were Beolab 90s, which we listened to straight after the 28s using the same track etc. Honestly and in not so big a room, I’d rather take the 28s over the 90s they were that good. They were better in the flesh than I thought they’d be, but it’ll still take some time to get used to that club foot! Some new Eclipse and 18 colours I’d not

  • Beolit 15 software update

I’ve tried updating our Beolit 15 software with the B&O app, but Beolits are not there. Bizarrely the old A8 still is! How?

  • The science of speakers

I know very little about how speakers actually work and the science of sound, and stumbled across this very informative video. Just in case you get washed up on a desert island, you can now make your own Beolabs. https://youtu.be/EEh01PX-q9I Great to see this mans joy at his creation at the end.

  • Re: Stage suitable TVs

Yes I’ve been to the Bristol shop. We went to see a sofa bed but to be honest as I’m shortly going back to Qatar, I’m using every excuse to get out and see the best of what’s local. If we are there over a weekend I’ll message you, I’ve even met one of our members whilst in France.

Still in Badsey until our middle boy has finished his exams. The extension still has 7-8 weeks left to build anyway so it should dovetail nicely. I’ll probably be sat in the desert paying for it all!

Looks great, but the wife had her eyes on a 77 inch wall. We are currently in Bath at the Portofino restaurant near Waitrose if you’re around? Time is 17:42

We are back in Bath Monday if anyone’s around. Is there a B&O shop there still? Went to buy a Sofa bed but normal sofas are so much better, and we saw some great offers. The irony of us decorating our new pad in Northumberland is that I’ve now been told to return to the desert a week Sunday, so I’ll not get to see the new tv or the Stage

I was looking to buy a decent sized OLED tv to wall mount, and have a stage underneath it. We went to the new Peter Tyson shop yes in Carlisle which is fantastic, but my wife wasn’t that impressed. Maybe the clip they were using as a demo wasn’t her thing as I’ve heard it better. I’ve got to say, the B&W Formation sound bar was very impressive too. Who knows.

I went to their Newcastle shop today which is coming along nicely. They’re the second B&O shop in Newcastle. I looked at the LG GX 77 today which is a bargain because a newer better G1 model has come out. It’s about £1,500 more and has better brightness etc but I’m not sure I’ll ever notice. They had a much better Stage display, so my wife is now sold on that. So we’ll probably get the 77 inch GX and a Stage wall mounted. We saw a nice media cabinet in Beo concept in Fenwicks so we will get that

Cheers. It’s got to hang on a pretty big wall all on its own in our new Northumberland pad. I think 55 inch will disappear unfortunately. I’m back off to the desert so ironically I’ll rarely even get to see it!
