  • Re: BeoPlay A3 iPad Dock

We all use IPads at work as we can sift through all our manuals, and infrequently when sat with bugger all to do or in our hotel we watch films on them. But lugging round a 1 kg speaker dock wouldn't really be that appealing even if it wasn't just being lugged around in a flight bag.

  • Re: B&O Play TV coming this quarter

The problem for the V1 Steph is that cosmetically it just doesn't look like a B&O product. I have to admit that if it had Finlandia or one of the other more obscure makes on it, i would have believed it. Whatever the direction of B&O, one of it's traits historically is that they look fantastic. The V1 looks like a cheap monitor that has had a stand modified from an clothes airer or tent Be honest, if it didn't have a B&O badge on it.......... Most quality manufacturers do

Picture is good, but and having just walked round a department store to compare, aren't they all. Well made and solid that's for sure, but the stand ruins it in my opinion. A simple easel stand would have been cosmetically better. There are cheaper better looking tv's for sure which was disappointing and surprising considering some of samsungs recent creations, but the sound is very good even in a large room. If I was going to utilise wire as a stand(which I wouldn't) I would either

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen dealers are giving up

Most of my friends don't know about B&O, and those that do largely believe it to be either out of their range financially, or too expensive for what it is. Every one of my work friends earn $60,000 or more. Most of the branches i visit are not in the town centre and always take a bit of investigation to find. I never find a concession like i do with Loewe. Why not team up with say BMW/Mercedes in their larger outlets. When i ran a shop having the door wide open, employing a female member

  • Re: Can B&O survive? Maybe soon?

iPhone, iPad 1 or iMac/MacBook pro. Take your pic but Apple Tv will stream anything directly from your chosen device to the box attached to an hdmi socket. Makes for a very cheap, flexible way of streaming music/videos etc. The new version is 1080p but doesn't quite match blu ray apparently. Not yet anyway!

I'm with Moxxey with regards to the future direction of B&O, and there is a small amount of irony that the budget end of an expensive make leads the way. On November the 24th 2009 Linn ditched their CD players after 25 years for digital streaming. They even offer a demo where you can try and compare the 2 medias to see if you can really tell the difference. We have an audiophile relative who loathes all things B&O(has house like Goonhilly Earth station) who to his credit took the test

  • Re: The best B&O stereo for a teenager girl

The problem is that we always end end buying what we are comfortable with, and probably what we used when of a similar age. I used to work on a University project a few years back and every single one of the students who were mostly male, used MP3 as their media of choice. And that was 2005. i don't know the daughter in question of course, but i would bet that MP3/Lossless would be her current media, and if not the vast majority of her friends. A smart compact and portable Beolit 12 would surely

See it as a Beovision 1 or MX replacement, and I guess nobody will be disappointed however it looks. These are the sets I'm guessing we all initially coveted, and found affordable. The 7's and 12's etc simply followed later. Hopefully these sets will cement future sales and brand awareness, and maybe more Beoworlders! Then I'll have even less of a chance of winning the prize draw :-/

I haven't seen this in the flesh either, but i am sure it will be better in the end. The photo being banded around does say concept. I also don't know where this obsession has arisen in the last ten years that B&O tv's must be £10,000 stunners. If you go back to the late 90's there was possibly only the Avant that was so much more expensive than other brands.

Ed it's sure getting that way and fast. I'm currently sat on my Boeing at East Mids airport watching Top Gun through Netflix on my IPad, which I have tethered to my IPhone. Although i am still buying Blu Rays etc the brutal truth is that very soon the whole idea of putting plastic disks in a machine will suddenly seem so out of date. Still good, but just not as quick and accessible as wireless connectivity. Looking forward to seeing the new tv either way, and getting out of this bloody airport
