Hi MM I have a standalone Beosystem 4 with Beovision 12. BL5 are connected to the Beosystem 4. My overture has been stowed away since I upgraded from BV7, because I was too cheap to invest in the ML/NL converter. But that also means i can't use my Mini Mac/TC electronics combo to drive my BL5s digitally. Or at least I havent found away. Well of course I can set the speakers in option 4 mode but it would be much more convenient to have the Beosystem 4 send the CD source signal to the speakers

I was hoping the "CD" source signal would also be sent to my Beloab 5s so I could listen to a digital source this way. But apparently it is not, My beolab 5s are not auto-sensing the SPdif input. Selecting CD as source brings up spotify on my BeoSystem 4 - and also resets the app when selected again. I think that bug is worthy of escalation and a hotfix.

I think as a minimum, being able to create a speaker group with only s/pdif connected speakers would satisfy many. Then I could have a speaker group for serious audio listening utilizing the s/pdif connection and another group where my BL5s are "analog" front L/R in my cinema setup. Of couse being able to mix and match digital and analog in any way would be very nice...
Creating a speakers group is something,

+1 on s/pdif out on the Moment. I will use it if integrates seamlessly with existing speaker groups on beosystem 4.
And how is that supposed to work - any thoughts welcome? MM
I know it is alot to wish for. Since s/pdif was also added to BL20 it seems the digital path is not forgotten. I wonder if BL20 applies the same "auto-sensing" as BL5 or how does it work? +1 on s/pdif out on the Moment. I will use it if integrates seamlessly with existing speaker groups on beosystem 4.

  • Re: BeoSound Moment

Since the stand alone BeoSystem 4 does not have Wisa, I hope the Moment will be able to act as a transmitter while my wired speakers are still connected to the Beosystem 4. I almost pulled the trigger on a wisa transmitter but in the end i decided to wait and see. I will take delivery of a pair of BL18 any day now but I will wire them while waiting for the Moment.

  • Re: Beovision 1 Stand

I would get the BV1 table stand and then simply place it on your furniture. I can't see any solution including a drill - neither for a hole in the TV or in the furniture...

  • Re: Beolab 3 scams on Leboncoin - probably!

Most of the time the pictures are british ones, you see it when you have a look at the power plug.
Another handy tool is the reverse picture search at http://www.tineye.com/ . The scammers don't have the products they are pretending to sell, so they can't take their own pictures either, and sometimes TinEye finds the original source. Many otherwise legitimate sellers steal pictures simply because they are too lazy

  • Re: Bovision 12 NG installation

The dealer in this case offered me a brand new Beo4 at no extra cost. So the issue with the remote was solved way beyond my expectations. Please remember, this was a Bang & Olufsen shop, not a second hand dealer. I went into the shop to buy a new BeoSystem 4 and the sales person convinced me into bying his barely used Beovision 12 NG instead. My expectations probably were biased towards my original errand, but it was surely a big dissappoint to see the trashed Beo4 as the first evidence of what
