• Re: BEOCENTER 2 will not power up

.Upgrade to silver or gold and download the Mk2 service manual (bottom left link on the service page.... not the User manual). Part 1 lists a lot of error messages (half of which are identified as 'Not Error'!) There are other parts to the service manual... concerning dismantling and replacing parts. Hopefully another member has had your exact experience and can suggest a solution. My BC2 works OK except for sometimes switching itself back on just after being switched off using the red button
Look here what happens to fun https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/36571/273314.aspx#273314
Wow. How did that cartoon get turned into an insult? Yes, that thread summarises how the fun has been drained from everything! Graham

Some of us are still here, but feeling just like you! I do remember, in the old days, some posters objecting to the 'fun' or slightly off topic threads, and such threads have now for the most part gone. Now we have endless problem product threads, reflecting product quality and frustrated buyers of both new and classic used. The classic used products are now getting so old that they are breaking down at an increased frequency, just like the new software based stuff. Graham

In fact B&O Guildford are currently selling BL3's on eBay as showroom ex-display............. from 2005! 14 years old! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BeoLab-3-loudspeaker-pair-in-black-from-Authorised-B-O-showroom/223350635926?hash=item3400bc3d96:g:tHAAAOSwUMBcUE~i
For the sake of argument, I would class Official Dealer shop floor ex-demo products as 'new' because they should not be older than 6 months old and will come with a fresh manufacturers warranty as if you were the first owner. 'Second Life' from an Official Dealer, a reseller, or eBay all count as 'used'. Lee
I think that the 6 months idea comes from car demonstration, where dealers often use a new car for personal and/ or demonstration

  • Re: Beocenter 2 and wall mount!

I had the same experience. The cable has to clip onto the underside of the tube and you then take it into the wall under the lower edge of the base/ wall plate. Most of the time it isn't too noticeable. You are right about B&O conveniently missing all the cables etc from a lot of their earlier advertising photographs. Personally, I ultimately resolved this problem by buying a floor stand. The cable does go inside the floor stand tube and the stand offers easy repositioning options. Graham

Hi STU, I always thought you were one of the greatest advocates for the BL90's, so I am really surprised to see this For Sale listing. Can you elaborate? .... (without undermining your sales prospects!) Graham

  • Re: What's with all the mono-only speakers?

Surely a 'proper' stereo system gives you the best of all worlds. Stereo in the sweet spot, and 'surround' or background when you are standing or sitting anywhere else. In small rooms BL3500's can achieve this, and if Masterlinked together you get a smooth sound transition moving room to room. There's mention of the Bose Wave Radio above. I have a Mk 1, still in regular bedroom use. Updated with Chromecast Audio it’s output is remarkable. Bose never made any special
