• Re: Beocom 2

Hi Leslie, You are on dangerous territory here! I seem to recall that one of my earliest posts on the previous forum was about on-line second life B&O sellers, and a complaint about the lack of response from some of them to a request that I'd either emailed or where I had filled-in an on-line request. I quickly found out who was who, having blundered into an area where I'd had no idea, at that time, about the ownership of Beoworld or the tensions between dealers. There are also official

Well, I did consider links to More Than and to the eBay seller! I guess one of my queries is that if something really is brand new, then doesn't the normal B&O guarantee apply? Is it three years? B&O dealers themselves are not consistent on this: I've bought ex demo from a main dealer and got a three year guarantee, yet other main dealers on the B&O website sell ex demo with short guarantees, or even brand new with expired B&O guarantees but a local dealer 6 or 12 month guarantee

  • Beocom 2 (& B&O Guarantee question)

I' ve noticed that an AV dealer is selling Beocom 2's on eBay as brand new but about £150 off list price (with charger and base station). Oddly, they are asking a lot extra for a guarantee and that seems to be something of a con if genuinely new. Another well known second life dealer (not Lifestyle) seems to also have 'Brand New' Beocom 2's on his website. Does anyone know why new Beocom 2's should be appearing on the market outside the official dealership network? Graham

  • Re: Posting from mobile devices

Not sure whether the iPad counts as a mobile device ....... although a lot of websites detect it as a mobile device and insist on giving you a cut down version of the proper website! Original OS on iPad was very unstable on the forum, later version better. I used Phil London's App originally, but it couldn't deal with the Wedthred. Smiley capability OK but not as easy as on a regular PC or Mac. Graham

  • Re: BV5 + DVD - what are my options?

Looks like an interesting product, but not out until later this month? No price. As the B&O linked Dab radio on that website is nearly €300 I would expect the DVD player to be at least as expensive. Why not spend £150 - £200 on another DVD1 from a second life dealer (or maybe less on eBay)? Graham

  • Beocenter 2: disabling opening function?

Is it possible to disable the loading function of the BC2, ideally deactivating / reactivating it with the Beo4? I'd like to be able to switch-off the door opening to prevent the mechanism being wrecked by adventurous little fingers. Unplugging the unit is too messy and also involves use of the PIN on reconnection. Graham

  • Vertical lines on BV5

Turned the BV5 (SD) on today and was presented with lots of thin vertical lines of different colours. Could still hear the sound from the channel on the Freeview STB. Switched to the skybox: just the same, could hear the channel but no picture, just vertical lines. Turned everything off and started again. Picutre returned as normal. I assume that this was some sort of glitch in the TV rather than with a STB. It's gone for now, but does this indicate possible problems in the future? Graham

  • Re: Vertical lines on BV5

Never happened to anyone else with a B&O plasma? Looking at the Panasonic forums, had this been a permanent fault it looks like it could have been a board module, screen or ribbon cable problem. Poor factory soldering also seems to lead to faults. Most faults appear not to be multiple vertical lines with no picture: most are a few lines (thin to wide to 1/4 screen) with the picture being visible on what's left of the screen. There also seems to be a common Panasonic complaint that it's

  • Re: B&O would like our feedback....

A lot of teething problems with the new bang-olufsen.com website. Local store site links seem to have been lost. No links for ex demo equipment. Poor map functionality. A lot of products have gone (presumably discontinued...... but who knows.......... All the phones and CD/ DVD equipment seems to have gone. New online store for a range of smaller units inc BS8 with free delivery and clear pricing..... so they must be thinking that this will not adversely affect the physical stores. Graham

  • Re: THE BEOWORLD MAY 2012 PRIZE DRAW

Just the sort of prize I could do with! Well done Lymphoy20!
I disagree. I think it's high time you stopped carrying your clubs around the golf course in an Asda bag. I was hoping you'd win the bag.
How did you find out?
