  • Re: Multiroom Issues

As our wifi get more crowded (even the dishwasher and the oven are now connected to our wlan) I had to give up on the Apple network, as the airports used as repeaters occupaid to much bandwidth (a wifi repeater or extender have a few downsides, such as creating additional traffic between itself and the main hub - and some devices will not switch between them as you move around the house). You can still have great coverage by using power line adaptors, but I found them to be adding clutter and they

  • Re: New TV 2018?

By B&O's definition, a year ends prior to Summer - they think in financial years. The rumor for a release late this year (Q4-2018) is not likely IMHO, I would guess early 2019. But if they were to develop and contract a 77" OLED now it would be a big risk given the price point a year down the road: Where I'm at, an LG 55" OLED is now 20.000 DKK and the 77" LG OLED is approx. 200.000 DKK. If you place your orders now (B&O to LG), a 77" OLED would have to cost the

  • Re: New TV 2018?

@koning - no, and this is more concerning than the video part in my mind... The new B&O audio system to rule them all seems to be the Core. So we may see it integrated into more speakers - no need to have a plastic box add-on (Core) to systems like BeoLab 18 and BeoLab 50 when a BS1/2 speaker can do without design wise? B&O may even take their audio portfolio to the webshop, so no longer limiting web sales to the Play-range. Roger

  • Re: Multiroom Issues

I second the comment from mczac - anything you would like to hook up to wifi these days is at risk of having problems, anything from a complicated Tesla (for OTA sw updates) to a BeoSound 1/2. Please have a look at this thread for the sw status for multi room - and note that as pr Feb 2nd the issues remain for A6 and A9: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/28296.aspx Roger

  • Re: beomaster5 limitations

The spec for BM5 is: With less than 10.000 songs, any operation should be immediate. With more than 40.000 songs, the user experience may not be optimal. With more than 70.000 songs (or 5.000 albums) will be severely impacted. The theoretical limit is 175.000 songs or approx. 10.000 albums. Roger

  • Re: Will HomePod 'kill' BeoPlay?

B&O customers that will go all-in on AirPlay 2.0 may get the HomePod, I guess. The B&O wireless speakers can co-exist with the HomePod in an AirPlay 2.0 setup, and they may even get a mic update this Fall as well. For me, two typical Apple issues will keep me from jumping on the HomePod immediately: Siri is not very good in my native language and, for now, HomePod is more or less exclusive to your iTunes library and/or your Apple Music subscription. With a B&O wireless speaker I can cancel

  • Re: Beware of firmware version 1.15.16926

@MM: B&O sw dept issued a statement on Tuesday confirming that they have managed to identify the wifi issue and fix it. Tests so far shows that the issue is solved, but they will continue with more extensive test cycles to rule out as many side effects as possible (finally?). The release is said to be "in the next weeks" or as soon as possible - if there are no side effects. Roger

  • Re: New TV 2018?

@emil: The Version 3.60.30 was released on January 30th, and solves the following issues: 1. HDR function does not work on YouTube 2. Lip sync issue when streaming 3. Netflix: voice is played back as a machine sound 4. TV cannot play FLAC files from NAS via DLNA 5. After a reset to default, pairing screen shown before SoundCenter is ready to pair "The wait 4 months" will depend upon how fast the current stock will sell out. I should be very careful here, but if you look at the serial numbers

  • Re: Projector and beovision 7 32 mk3

You may also consider a route that I went down: use a DVD player with dual HDMI outputs (such as the OPPO series), one HDMI going to the TV and the other to the projector. Then you mute the picture on the TV, or set the OPPO do only distribute sound on one of the HDMI's - several roads to Rome. Roger

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

Design update: As of April the pleated wooden lamellas (known from BV14 a.o.) speaker grill will be available for both the 55" and the 65" Eclipse. Love it! Price will be the same as for the alu grill. Customers that buy an Eclipse now, will get a fabric cover free of charge if they order the wood grill. Roger
