  • Re: BV12 - your thoughts?

When the BV12 arrived we thought the 7-55 would die, but it turned out to be the other way around - The BV12 made the 7-55 look better: for most customers it is easier to set up a tv on a floor stand, the BS3 is totally integrated and so is the blu-ray player. The STB can be mounted on the floor stand and hidden by the STB alu-cover. A pretty tidy and neat setup. The fact that the 7-55 will turn to face you is essential to some, and the advantage of having the center speaker facing you is obvious

  • Re: BeoWorld and Blackmail ....

I fully endorse what Lee and Peter have said - I was a part of both the old and the new BeoWorld, and the transition was far from smooth. But water under the bridge and all that... I feel truly sorry for Lee having to still put up with this. I do hope that Lee's post will put an end to this. Finally. Roger

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen are shutting down 125 stores!

B&O are adapting to the current financial regime, but we must not forget that the increased sales for B&O Play and the Automotive group are very good news - especially in times like these. Regarding the dealers: B&O DK have a pretty good overview of their dealer network, and simple things like their dealer visits and sales figures give them a pretty good idea of who is performing and living up to their standars and who's not. • Re: BeoSystem 3 update ?

I agree that the BS3 will reach EOL in the not to distant future and that we may expect a new engine that also can drive a projector. Regarding the BS5, the rumour regarding the major SW overhaul last Fall did not materialize - unless B&O will bring out new SW that includes and supports Spotify, AirPlay a.o. the BS5/BM5 will follow the BS3 IMHO. Roger [quote user="beolion"] Question: Can we expect any further development of the BS3 system in the future? Same question can also be made

  • Re: BeoSound 5 vs Beosound 5 Encore

If you have an ML-setup today, the BS5/BM5 combo is the obvious choice - with the current firm- and software my BS5 has worked non-stop for 1+ year now. I am considering adding an Encore in another room as this will access the BM5, and after trying this out in another house I found it to work very well - and as the GUI is the same this works much smoother than the two-way Beo6. You can pick up 2nd hand Encore's for decent money these days to add on to your BS5/BM5 setup. There was a rumour regarding

  • Re: Beosound 5 encore wi fi and nas connection

Yes, all the latest Apple wifi gadgets support 5 GHz (Express, Extreme, TC) - but your computer will need software to run as a server. Even the older Extreme, introduced in March 2009, does support 5 GHz. Please check support.apple.com to identify your product and the tech spec. Roger

  • Re: BeoLab 4000 - End of Life

The PlayMaker was given away for free if you bought a pair of speakers, not because it didn't sell well - around here we saw that the PlayMaker was mainly picked up by existing BeoLab owners and did not create the additional speaker sales that B&O had hoped for. So a combo was offered. The recent numbers from Struer indicates that they are no longer loosing money, but they have a long way to go before they start to make some serious money again. I fully agree that we (BeoWorld) tend to be

  • Re: Advice needed - BL8000 - BL 12.3 - BP A9

I am sure you will get as many views on this as there are members on this forum I would rate the BL8k and the BL12.3 to be fairly equal. Adding the BL2 to either pair will improve the low end. Comparing the BL8k with the BL2 to the 12-3 is easy: the pair with the BL2 will winn. Same goes for your question regarding the A9. I find the BL 12.1 to be on par, or slightly below, the A9. The BL8k+BL2 is a much better setup than a single A9, add a PlayMaker and you have the same flexibility when it comes

  • Re: B&O's future line up

A new (and rather annoying) policy is to keep the lid on new products until they are ready for launch. The BeoLab 15-16 launch was a surprise to most dealers as they received the news at the same day as visitors to www.bang-olufsen.com I do think that we will have less accurate gossip in the future - unless we have someone on this forum with very good contacts at Struer Roger

  • Re: New audio product coming soon?

Strange that nobody picked up the products that Chris revealed: the buds are a new approach, while the cans are very posh with nice leather. The BeoLab 14 set is old news. Seems to be no optical in, which makes sense as there is no surround processing capabilities provided. The new tv will be released later, so I guess there will be another spotlight turned on later on. Roger
