• Beovision 7 fixed!!! Another question

As per my previous thread...my beovision was damaged by a lizard crawling into the tv......B&O quoted a horrendous amount for the repair (which they are entitled to do). I had a technician from Yamaha come and look at the tv and he repaired on the spot for R600.00 which is about 46.15 pounds!! B&O wanted to charge me 750 pounds for the board alone!! So I'm so happy. My question is, I have my Beolab 8000 speakers connected to the tv but I am wanted to also connect my Beosystem 3500 to
Is PCB4 common to all BV7 32 TV's? Lifestyle have two Mk1 BV7's on eBay for £395. Lee might even have a damaged BV7 32 he could remove PCB4 from..... might be worth asking (and the other resellers. One of them is always selling parts on eBay... Quality Dream Audio?????) Graham
Thanks Graham. If I don't have any luck repairing it, I will try Lee. If anyone reads this thread and has any leads for a 2nd hand board....I'd be eternally grateful
I know zilch about BV7 internals, but if the damage is on the mains input side as it seems (not further down the power supply) and has managed to blow a fuse at some point, the module might well be repairable - although the "official" parties might not be interested in trying. Make sure you (or whoever starts dismantling the set) read the service manual warning about damaging the LCD panel before starting. Good luck, and I'm sorry I had a laugh as

Thanks Casperl.....spoke to the agents its R9000.00 for a new board....think its about 700 pounds!! Not sure its worth it. I know someone who is very good at electronics, he will come and see if he can repair the board. I really hope so. Can't believe one little lizard cos cost me so much!! Grrrr!!!

See the photo!! A Gecko (small lizard) got into the Beovision and got fried causing damage to a track and put a small hole in the board. If you enter the words "stanislaw lem test fly" at a google search you may find the story, if you don't find it in your bookcase. But to be serious ... good luck with a

  • Dead Beovision 7-32..culprit found!

See the photo!! A Gecko (small lizard) got into the Beovision and got fried causing damage to a track and put a small hole in the board. What I want to know....is it safe for me to take the board out myself or isn't it advisable. I hope this isn't a huge repair? The charred Gecko has been removed (wasn't pleasant!!!) I looked at the service manual and as far as I can see it is PCB4? Is that correct? Thanks Ben

New chassis? Have absolutely no idea what that means?? Am I able to do this myself. There is no B&O repairer in my city. I bought the TV, just couldn't resist. So hopefully I can get it going!!!

  • Beovision 7-32 Advice!!

HI An old lady has a Beovision 7 with the speaker bar and the motorised stand. The tv was on standby and made a popping noise and died! She no longer wants it and will sell it to me for R1000.00 which is about 76.92 pounds, all cables included. Is it worth buying? Will it be fixable? She said it was working 2 weeks ago. She doesn't want it as it doesn't have HDMI. The standy light doesn't come on. Thanks Ben

  • Re: Beolab 8000 dead end!

Another update. I phoned B&O SA and really got on their case about not being to order the part. Eventually they caved and I've ordered the part! Not the cheapest at R945.00 which is about 73 pounds. Of course no stock so I'll have to wait. By the way the new part number for the transformer is 80137007. Hopefully all my problems are now solved!!
