• Re: The new BeoSound Essence

This is what Techcrunch stay on their site: The round, aluminum controller is mounted on a wall or placed on a table. This unit controls the music and features the standard array of touchscreen controls and sports motion sensors. Walk into a room with the B&O Essence and Bon Iver will start playing. Walk out, the music will fade away. No one here has mentioned the motion control. Is the what Techcrunch say correct?

  • Re: Masterlink

Agree that Masterlink works well. However, if you use the wall terminations/sockets, be very thorough when connecting the leads to the very flimsy small "tubes". I recently realized I had a bad connection when adding a BL3500 into my ML system. The sound was not balanced between right and left speaker due to bad termination elsewhere in the system. I had not noticed that because my other link speaker was a BL2000. The speakers where to narrow to tell.

  • Re: WiSA certified BeoLab Receiver 1
This should have been a device designed a bit like a LC2, that you can leave on the floor. Also it should have an in-built power supply and a pass through so you can power the speakers through it.
Agree. Now I would need either need two mains cables from the nearest mains socket, and a very short PL cable from receiver to speaker (where I need to hide the receiver) or A PL cable and Mains cable from the nearest mains socket where I need to hide the receiver
...and you can AirPlay to them, and use Spotify Connect with them. As for the NL-upgrade of the BM/BS5 I am not so sure - although that really would be great. N.B. When the Essence comes out, I will try to connect it to the A-AUX of my BeoMaster just like I do now with the Playmaker - this way it could (?) be brought into the ML-chain. But the Essence-'knob' would be obsolete then - no need for double volumen control. MM
Have you confirmed that
Like this.
I see. Are they available in white? Downside is that two cords from mains are required.

  • WiSA certified BeoLab Receiver 1

B&O mention the receiver now on the website and it was also mentioned in a pressrelese on the company website: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/the-company/press Price for the receiver is quoted at: DKK 1.495 / €195 / $265 / £165. Should be available during February. Has anyone seen the receiver? Assume it has to be very small and discrete to make sense. /C

  • Re: New Audio product
Indeed, Phil explained it perfect on page 8 and I already said it on page 2. The Essence is useless without the app. Compare it with a Sonos or Squuezebox. The apps that control these devices made these devices so successful, not the device itself. So in potential, the Essence has less limitations then a Sonos or Squeezebox or PM. - The knob is just some extra controls that are lacking on a Sonos or Squeezebox - It adds Airplay which Sonos and Squeezebox don't
Dear Friends of BeoWorld! First a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you! Moving to a new flat I'd like to setup a ML system. I've already read some threads and within beotech but still have some questions or need someone to confirm my thoughts. I'd like to link 4 rooms which now are "connected" in line through an empy tube. room one should get three ml sockets 1-3). At the moment I have got a BS9000 (+BL8000), BS5/BM5 (connected
