  • Power Cut

This evening at 5pm we experienced a power cut in Central Ealing wiping out businesses and homes so we decided to shut the showroom early and take advantage of the beautiful sunny hot May evening. I put the key in the shutter switch and turned it to the left, nothing. We weren't going anywhere after all so we had to sit tight until the power would eventually come back on. Anyway to pass the time I unpacked one of the new BeoPlay A3's that had just arrived, placed in my old iPad and enjoyed

  • Re: Atlona matrix

Not with B&O control! The matrix needs to be loaded with either Atlona firmware or B&O to make it compatible with the end product IR control. This chassis is not compatible with the available sw from B&O for control. It needs to be an A or C type chassis.

  • Re: Samsung BD-C7500 not reading discs (dvd)

Hi Ferdinand Sorry to hear of your problem. This is a known fault, the mechs haven't been very reliable. In fact I think Samsung should have issued a recall. If it still under the manufactures warranty (not B&O), Samsung will repair the unit. I had a similar issue with the BDD 7500 the other day, i was a bit surprised it lasted 10 months. I would swap it out for the new Pana or a PS3!

  • Re: Beovision 11 Questions

We plugged a clients external USB drive in to his BVIS 11 and drive name was recognised as he had named it and it played the AVI files. I have a Mac mini in the showroom and the movie files stored on the Max play through Plex media server using the Homemedia source. Why aren't you using Apple TV to draw the video content via the mac, this is seamless and it has a better interface?

  • Re: Help! BL3500 shows FAIL on display

Hi Paul I have come across this once before with a clients unit that was used in a very hot and steamy Kitchen. The fault is caused generally by humidity, I would take it to a service centre. We followed the repair guidelines but then also needed to replace another module, off the top of my head I cannot remember what it was?! Cause: Humidity in connection with the glue or flux under 22R116 and a -9V copper foil underneath 22R116 results in the above symptom. The symptom can be illustrated by breathing

  • Re: Masterlink Gateway and KNX

We love KNX! This is a very specialist subject field. You will require an approved KNX partner to assist you such as Aura Digital Living and us to programme the B&O system for you. It is a solid and reliable building management system that is used in commercial applications too. Our showroom is running on KNX with Gira and Busch Jaeger front end

  • Re: Best UK dealer discount?

I believe one dealer that was very generous with giving away his margin has just gone out of business this week! Another bites the dust... The online price is from B&O directly so you won't find any movement there and as the margins on Play items like other consumer electronics discounts won't be found easily as Dealers want to protect their slim margins to be able to pay the Tax man, rent, rates, B&O and other creditors.

  • Re: Beoplay A8 software update

You can only update the A8 via an Ethernet connection and by using a 30 pin connected Apple product. If you do not own one of these a trip to your dealer will be in order. On this point this proves the necessity of a good dealer network and means B&O cannot become reliant on 3rd party resellers and online sales. They need to remember to look after their 'partners'! Chris, I am sure Martin will look after you!

  • Re: What could make new customers start buying Bang & Olufsen/B&O...

B&O need to globally market the two brands and invest heavily into this to raise their profile. There are some great products in the portfolio and the pipeline is promising but what's the point in it all if nobody knows anything about it/them! Marketing drives sales...when was the last time a new brochure was produced, half of the stuff in the current one no longer exists and as for letting prospects know about the new headphones or awesome A9 what communication have you seen?

  • Re: Small scratch on BV10 AR screen

What I mean is; Bang & Olufsen set high standards in certain areas such as sound and picture. They are competent in achieving the best results for television viewing in different and difficult surroundings. The AR glass is purely designed to reduce light reflection entering or leaving the screen. The subtle blue tint does offer a slightly different experience to normal glass.
