  • Re: beogram 8002 help please.

A great turntable but difficult to get working! - order the correct belt from member Dillen, too tight belts can destroy the motors bearings. - Recap, Dillen can supply you with the correct capacitors - Lube the guide rail and worm wheel with the correct grease (lithium?) - Look with eagles eyes for broken solderings, mostly on the connectors - Work antistatic when working on the microprocessor board (maybe best when working on any board) These are the first steps, if it's still not running afterwards

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 volume

That's normal! unfortunately most radio stations transmit as loud as possible trying to catch listeners attention. Also they use compression destroying any chance of dynamics in music.

  • Re: Hum and noise from beomaster 8000

The noise disappears when you remove this RCA cable? When you plug in the phone the noise disappears? This is completely normal. RCA to Jack cables can somehow act like an antenna and pick up noise.

  • Re: Beomaster 1200 overheating

The idle current has probably drifted. Adjustment is done as described in the service manual and in this post:

  • Re: Vintage Beogram 3000

There are multiple kinds of BG3000, one tangential deck from the 80's and two radials with a wood plint from the 60's and 70's. Which one do you have? No power light or movement suggests no power is getting in at all. I'd start with checking the internal fuse, easy job.

  • Re: Speakers distort after 1hour of play Beocenter 7700 with S45-2 speakers

Starts to distort and gets hot? Probably the no-load current is off, or there are electrolytic capacitors going bad. Replacing the electrolytic capacitors will help your beocenter sound as new. Adjust the no load current as per the service manual, probably a good thing to replace the potentiometers for the no load current as these often go bad in B&O devices this age.

  • Re: Beomaster/system 8000 - is it really superior

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating! However, the beolab 8000 system was a tour de force, never matched in power or refinement by anything B&O made before or a couple of years after. It was the Beolab 5, or beolab 90 if you will, of its time! BM6500's internal amplifier is a souped up version of the amplifier that was in the smaller music systems, e.g. BC7700, at the time BM8000 was made. This is a nice sounding amplifier, but was made for smaller loudspeakers. If you want to use

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 Project

Hi Sonavor, I think the seldom seen 'code converter' runs on a negative voltage. possibly this is what the connector is for? Handmade as a service by a tech savvy B&O dealer? The code converter, as mentioned on, for using a BL1000 with 80's B&O systems. Mine came with an aftermarket 9V adapter which has + on the ring and - on the tip. This -15V connector will probably do as well.
