• Re: Beolab 14 sub
I have the cables to connect Beolab 14 (...) in 2.1 mode in stock
Steve, thank you for your contribution, this seems to open options for new implementations. But I do not understand how you can achieve a 2.1 setup from an audio source with your cable solution. For 2.1, the BL14 needs 3 inputs: L+R+sub (in contrast to BL2 and BL11 which only need L+R). However the audio source will output L+R channels only, but no sub channel. Your cable solution

  • Re: Any news about the new beolabs
I am still wondering why there are no details or rumors regarding the new audio system to be launched as well. More of a tablet-style than the current BS5... I can not be the only one with access to information from the dark side?
So this one is NOT confirmed? Only the speakers?
I agree that sometimes things can look a little better in real life... But I have never before seen anything that looked ugly on a picture, that was really beautiful in real life... Most of the B&O I have bought over the years, I have seen on pictures first...And because of those pictures I wanted to buy it.
+1 That being said, although I find the overall design is unbalanced, I am curious to see the implementation of the wood idea in the flesh.

A couple of quote extracts I completely agree with:
I'm assuming that WiSA streaming apps will come flooding [...] and so the source hardware isn't critical to B&O. I've always said their remaining core competence is speakers [...]

If music is to be stored losslessly and transferred to speakers digitally then B&O can only add value to the [...] navigation of the source data [...] an app on other people's

  • Re: Views on Beolab 8000 replacement.

In my humble opinion, if the BL8000 did not sell any more, B&O should have come with something completely new, not a recycled design. In addition, when you have a perfect design, you do not "update" it by altering its balance and coherence. I believe the new proportions look wrong (particularly these of the base and the stiletto) and the new design lacks coherence: the combination of so many different materials/colours (black base, chrome body, wooden slats) and shapes (square bases

  • Re: How to activate BM7000 main speakers with MCL2A

Many thanks to you all for your comments
Why not "fool" the system and connect both speaker outputs to the same speakers...?
Good point, I could try elaborating on that idea. However, I have Beolab speakers with PowerLink.

Many thanks for your replies. Well, this confirms my expectation. But that's ok, I will walk, let's not be lazy after all PS: just out of technical curiosity: can the MCL be connected to Speakers 1 as mentioned by Carolpa? I thought the 4-pin Speakers 1 connection was designed for the Beolab Penta MkI, while only the 3-pin Speaker 2 could work with MCL? Or did I misunderstood? Anyway, this is just out of curiosity. Thanks!

  • How to activate BM7000 main speakers with MCL2A

I have a Beomaster 7000 installed in the first corner of a very large L-shaped room. In order to be able to control it from the opposite corner of the room as well, I added a MCL2A with an IR sensor (my speakers are connected to the Beomaster, not the MCL). I am perfectly happy with this setup, with one exception: if I activate the system from the opposite corner of the room, the speakers remain in standby. This is normal behaviour: the system believes that I am in a Link room and that the main speakers

  • Re: Anyone knows what this plug is meant for on my BM6500

Very interesting topic as I have a related question. The plain external IR sensor (if I am not mistaken it was type nr. 2001 that was used, at least for the Beomaster 5500 which had a fixed plug in the socket panel) did not seem to have the "Mute/Standby" button that the similar looking MCL2 sensor had. Does it mean that it was not possible to activate or to put the system into standby by manually operating the plain external IR sensor connected to Leslie's Beomaster 6500 external plug

  • Enhance vintage life expectancy

What is the best way to enhance the life expectancy of early 1990's audio systems (Beomaster 7000 and 4500 and Beocenter 9500) that are not used regularly? Disconnect, box and store safely? Or keep connected to the mains and use as regularly as possible? Many thanks!
