• Re: Beolab 90 - interested in purchase, questions and any owners here?
Dont quite understand why you would use another DAC because the BL90 will ADC/DAC regardless?
Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I don't really understand what the speaker's ADC is doing in this context. I did ask both DCS and B&O seperately whether the combination of the DCS DAC and the BL90 would work well together, connecting via XLR, and no one mentioned the issue of downsampling at the time. I assume the BL90 needs to convert

You are running high resolution music files into a DAC (e.g DSD), which then connects to BL90 via the analog XLR or RCA connections - so there is no restriction of how high res your source file is. But if really want top performance, you do need to make sure you have a very good DAC with no noise interference, otherwise, you would be better off just feeding a digital input into the BL90s and using its own DAC.

The Beolab 90s are a brilliant product. After years of dreaming about them, I finally managed to acquire a pair. Aside from their striking design - they let you straddle the two worlds of audiophile music as well as no fuss home theatre. You do, however, need a good source. I have a Vivaldi DCS as the DAC, connected to the XLR inputs and driven by a Roon Nucleus music server, which is connected to my DAC via ethernet. I'm planning on adding a Linn LP12 to the RCA input. One of the key considerations

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

I'm also noticing some strange behavior with the Apple TV 4K since the last software update of the Eclipse. Whenever I try and use the back-up button on the Apple TV menu remote, there is a very long pause, the screen goes black, the Dolby Vision logo appears in the top corner, and finally the image returns. Anyone else noticing this, or know why this is happening?

  • Re: Further Software problems AVANT and multi room

I have the same issue as you David, the Airplay 2 update has broken the multiroom functionality with the Avant Series 1. I have a Moment integrated with the Avant, but even when I take this out, the TV also can't connect to the multiroom stream without cutting out. For some reason, if you initiate the stream from the TV, rather than another room - it seems to work. Let's just hope that Denmark choose to update the software, but given that the last update was in mid 2017, I'm now a bit

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

Hi Roger - thanks as always for your insights. This is sad news. Does this mean that they won’t fit a 2018 LG panel to the Eclipse this year, as was originally planned? What will happen when the 2017 LG panels run out? I can’t imagine that they have a contract for manufacturing 2017 panels just for B&O - or will the Eclipse go with the way of the Moment, and be gradually sunsetted as components run out..

  • Re: Beovision Eclipse & Dolby Vision Issues

Thanks for the suggestions - finally solved the issue. Previously I had 'Match Content' setting turned off, because it was generating strange sync effects on screen when you move backwards through menus. I guess that has been addressed in subsequent software updates, and as per the attached B&O technical guide, when I reactivated it, it stopped the issue described above.

  • Beovision Eclipse & Dolby Vision Issues

Hi everyone - need some expert help! I've had my Beovision Eclipse 65 for a number of years now, connected to an Apple TV 4K, and watching Dolby Vision content without any problems. Lately, when watching Dolby Vision content, my picture has been going haywire. It is OK for about 10 minutes or so, and then starts blacking out, before going to static. I've tried changing to a newer cable, but no difference. I thought it may have been the dreaded HDMI issue on earlier Eclipses, but my dealer

  • Re: New B&O TV BeoVison Harmony

So does that mean that if you buy the 77-inch Harmony, and later you want to upgrade to the 88 inch panel - the soundcenter/lift mechanism is exactly the same - and you can just swap to the bigger size?

Thanks so much Geoff - the BL90s are incredible, you did an incredible job on them! Out of interest, what do you use as a high-end source when connecting via the analogue inputs?
