  • Re: POLL : Buying New or Buying Used?

My sort of introduction was getting a bunch of used B&O and the experience from there. Still devoted 100% for audio and video and so sure I would if the need and the budget is there to buy new. Still I could see what the Beosound 9000 mkiii I had briefly was the target market for and technology for audio enjoyment in 2019 has moved on as well so some dealers say a full Beosystem 6500 is not the gold it used to be. Being the owner of complete Beosystem 6000 and 6500 still working I don't see

  • Re: De-cluttering our B&O: Does it spark joy?

I never got into hoarding B&O and these days I still got complete Beosystem 6000 in white + 6500 in white. Ad 2 old Beovision one being my LX5500 which I got in 2008 from an auction. At first the supplied Beolink 1000 did not turn it on but the buttons on the front would. So I got the remote fixed. It still works along with the electric turn stand and VX7000 vhs player. The other is my 1998 Beo4 AV9000 IMP which I had delivered and for the sake of being able to use it some service was needed

  • Re: Beosystem 5000 vs Beosystem 7000

I want to ad a few more things going for the 6500/7000: 1: Powerlink for active and also passive speakers so you are still future proof on either side of what to use 2: Remote options gives MCL , ML, Beolink 1000, Beo4 and more. Fully integrated with Beovision and lights while the parts can still be found easy enough. 3: Resale value is high and still cost among the second hand market especially if it has the matching Beogram record player.

  • Re: Beosystem 5000 vs Beosystem 7000

The biggest reason for me to pick 6500 was colour, remote and powerlink options. That seemed to be above 5000, 5500 and just not enough to go 7000 unless I wanted black. I still love my complete Beosystem 6500 in white which is 1991. Still my Beosystem 6000 from 1981 sounds just as good but the sound in general does not really seem to be that different from Beosystem to Beosystem or passive to active speakers. I also had the Beosound 9000 mkiii which did sound similar to my 6500. Going from Beosystem

  • Re: Beogram 5500

Depends on where the scratches are I recently got try Novus on my Beogram 6500. The top of the clear part was quite scratched but the treatment 1,2 and 3 did the magic. Now I can see clearly through the top of the lid

  • Re: What/where is your "B&O Cave"?

It depends on my living conditions. Currently my Beosystem 6500 is in a basement room where I spend most of my time. In another bigger room also in the basement is my Beosystem 6000 and Beovision 5500 with VX7000 vhs deck. Ground level has my Beovision AV9000. Assorted B&O all over the place basement and ground level.

Here we have a proof of the Beocord 1100 actually worked when I got it and even tried to record something which turned out ok. Put a Metal tape in and dead. Powerfull tape those are. In Denmark a typical thrift store find. Expect trouble as that is what is mostly there. Except once when it was a Beocord 5500 and I could not find any faults. It still plays to this day on original belts. It looks like it's from the same store as the 5500 as I recall the original tape aux cable for Beomaster 6000
