• BS5e; sort of NOT "stand alone"

I changed my B&o Link setup. Now the BS5e is a sort of local source for music. My setup: Main: BV7 & BS5 masters: BS5 option 0; sources N.Music changed to A.Mem, N.Radio to Radio Local: Beoport option 6; Main PC no; Default source PC fully wired powerlink to BL5000 Local same room: BS5e powerlink connected to BL5000 (only Li, Re, earth) Start Windows PC - Beoport PC starts - start the BS5e - you get the music of the BS5e. N.Music/N.Radio are local PC sources Start A.Mem/Radio on the Windows

See http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/How_to_SSH_into_your_QNAP_device for the access of your NAS. If set-up correctly you can access the file system with Terminal (Apple) or Putty (Windows; download from the net) go to /usr/local/"twonky_or_something_like_this"/cgi-bin (command: cd /usr/local check for the name of the Twonky directory with the command: ls than cd /usr/local/"twonky_or_something_like_this"/cgi-bin) 1. try with renaming the files convert-jpeg.desc and jpeg-scale.desc to
Studio Master songs of a quality superior to what is supported by the Encore (24/96 max) doesn't makes any problem with MOTS. One of the solution could be to buy music instead of stealing it, I've got no problem with Qobuz-downloaded tracks Now I have a big question for you Erandlux : I just installed the DS412 for a test ride. I installed the multimedia package, and at first, there was no cover displayed on the Encore. Then went in the settings to tick the box

Dus toch random?

  • Re: Can u run iTunes on a BeoMaster 5

@Moxxey If I listen lossless to ripped cds the bitstream is about 1000 kbit/s. So this signal has about four times more information as a 256 kbit/s from an iTunes song. Ripped DvdA, Sacd, BR have signals up to 8Mbit/s (or even more). I know most people do not listen to music, for them it is just a wallpaper of sound. But to state that compressed files have the same quality then lossless, is beyond the reality and also a pitty of buying equipment with exelent spec's just to listen to lossy formats
As I said, you can do what you want. If you believe that you're getting such improved audio quality. Fair enough. If it makes you happier and more passionate, no problem. But, it's definitely much more of a placebo for most modern produced albums (ripping lossless compared to digital versions). And, note, I'm not talking about us (the consumer) ripping at 256 using iTunes, I'm talking about the professionally digitised versions that the music publishers

  • Re: radio beosound 5

BS5 up to 192kHz 24bit FLAC BS5e up to 96kHz 24bit FLAC BS5e: no down sampling of 192kHz files (any files above 96kHz), there is simply no sound to be heard my own experience with both systems (ripped DVD Video/Audio, BR and SACD as well bought HD files) see http://archivedforum.beoworld.org/forums/p/41746/346373.aspx#346373 (post of Geoff Martin from Stuer)

  • Re: Beosound 5 and HD music files

@Frisp was the file a 24bit 192kHz 2 channel music file? Or was it a multichannel file? The multichannel file will not be audible! the answer of B&o is in that way strange, that it is more complex to downgrade steaming music then put additional codecs in the system. Note: the BM5 is build around a VIA board with HD capabilities/spec's.
