• Re: Does ML pass two-way signals from. MCL

Short answer - no! ML does not support two-way communication. MM
Sure? The AV9000 was the first Beovision with ML and mine had two-way communication. Even the Beolink 7000 had a mklI for the AV9000 (for example sound 1 to 5 was added)
I can confirm this. two-way- communication works with BS7000 (Beogram, Beocord, Beogram CD connected), AV9000 connected via 1610 converter and BV MX4000 MKI (two-way) connected via

What A.OPT setting?
0
Interesting. So when controlling the Beomaster via the AV9000, you can actually view things like the CD track, radio preset playing, RDS data (if using BL7000)?
Follow-up question, but in the above example connecting a BM6500 to ML via 1611 unit; does this then feed what ever audio that comes from the BM6500 into the ML?
Yes, correct. You can listen to all audio sources connected to your BM6500 in all (ML) connected linkrooms, and you can connect your BS6500 to all ML Beovisions in your main room in a 0-2 setup - Beolabs connected to the videomaster. And you can control all connected audio sources from all connected
Actually, the BM6500 is located in a part of the living room with two shielded cat. 6 outlets. I now understand that its safest is to run MCL directly from BM6500 using one of the cat. 6 cables (and then patch it over to the existing MCL network)
Yes, it may be the best way to solve your problem. Be aware that four of the seven MCL wires are speaker level wires - and CAT wires are really thin.. So, for data, 5V, ground this will be ok. , but if you want to

So maybe (?) if you use a BL passive sw1.6 and activate the LIGHT/CONTROL function it works via a connected MCL2A...(?)
I think that I have 4 passives, so perhaps one of them is at SW 1.6 My worry now is trying to find a suitable IR sensor (to setup the Passive) within the eight large cardboard Beoboxes in my cupboard!! Or could I carry out the MENU 05 procedure from my MCL2A link room once the passive is connected in the main room

Thanks for the link. I doubt, that a BL passive or -active ever left the factory with such a software. I think, it simply was an upgrade for existing boxes, just by changing the eeprom. But a BL active with powerlink connected amplifier (powerlink fully wired) should also do the trick. And in deed, I have such a setup in my house :)) It´s a bit complex, but a proof that it works. In the office we have a BC9500 with BL5000 (with orange displays) In addition I have one of my BL actives in the
If I connect a ML/MCL converter in other end of the masterlink cable, will two-way communication signals from a BL7000/5000(operated in a MCL room) get routed over master link(and reach the beomaster 6500)? On the MCL I also have several LC2 and I want to keep using them in a link-light setup.
Should be possible if there are LINK LIGHT compatible products on both (transmitting/receiving) ends. An ML/MCL converter won`t work this way , because it uses the

  • Re: BeoLink 1611 Latest SW version?
Latest SW is 1.6 which enabled compatibility with MLGW: Forwarding light and control commands.
I think you are talking about Beolink active - type 1636 - which latest sw is indeed 1.6. Question is about the Beolink converter - type 1611. Stefan

  • Re: Beosound 3000 with 6 speakers?

Yes you can add a third pair of Beolabs by using Powerlink splitter or daisy chain them ( there are no more poerlink sockets free in your setup, I think...) The third pair in the other room will have the same sound settings and will follow volume level of the main system. Welcome - back - on Beoworld. Stefan
