  • Re: Beolab 1 hidden control panel

These are such awesome speakers. I'm on my second pair and they are still my favourite. The first pair I had I played around with the potentiometers and found a good amount of bass... however, just like you say, their "lack of bass" isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it does make them incredibly accurate. My current pair is set to all the factory settings and they are in a small room with low ceilings. Surprisingly they sound perfect even in the small space and I enjoy them very

  • Beolab 2500 - both mono? Help!

Hi all, I recently acquired a beosystem 2300 with the beolab 2500's but the speakers are mono, do these need a special kind of powerlink cable?? I've tried the ones they came with which are 5 pin din... and the mkIII 8 pin powerlink cables I have for BL4000's. I've switched everything around but they are still playing mono (when I test the balance setting on both my beocenter 2300 and Beocenter 2, it's the same issue, equal left and right are going to both speakers. I can't

  • Re: BeoLab 2 Crossover question (setup switch)

Thank you for the reply Steve and Davidr, yes the BL4000's are working perfectly it seems and sound lovely otherwise, there's just this little difference. Perhaps my ears just need to adjust, and likely it is the physical placement of the BL2 and BL4000's - it is a very small room and the BL2 is in an alcove under my desk. Thank you for confirming that the setup switch is just changing the volume, that's what I thought when I was changing it. In relation to downgrading, I think sound

  • BeoLab 2 Crossover question (setup switch)

Hi all, I have searched high and low for more information before posting this question but I'm at a loss... I (think) i'm experiencing an audible gap between MKII BL4000's with the BL2, which I was previously using BL3, with no noticeable gap. It sounds like the 4000's are missing some mid-low frequencies, and I've tried fiddling around with the switches as well as the bass setting on the BeoSound unit but I can't seem to get it to sound "right" Does anyone else

  • Re: beovision 3-32

Buy a Beo 4 remote it will open up your ability to make the most of the TV. They can be found cheap sometimes on ebay or the like. The three scart connections actually vary. The "Decoder" scart does not have RGB (a connection that gives the optimal picture). Be sure to prioritise using either the AV / DVD scart connections, and as mentioned above you can setup this connection as "STB" in the TVs menu which then gives you a list of all the compatible boxes the TVs built in STB

  • Re: Beolab 1 Price

Can't give you much of an answer regarding price because it varies depending on location, but I owned these and LOVED them. They are physically breathtaking and impossibly beautiful if in mint condition. The sound is very clear and will slap you in the face when turned up. I miss them dearly but may buy another pair one day when I'm not such a gypsy.

  • Re: Beolab 2 troubleshooting....

Sorry to drag out an old thread. I had the EXACT same problem you had, and so my old BL2 sat in cupboard for 3 years. I recently took it to the store.... but the news was bad; internally, it needed a 'new chassis'. It cost me approximately $1200 AUD but now it's back and working as it should. YAY!!!! A great sub, worth fixing, and frankly they haven't made one as loud/powerful ever since the cessation of this product!

  • Re: LifeStyle AV - Now Closed

You were my GO TO for almost ALL of my B&O equipment. Both yourself and Matt Russell REALLY looked after me here in Australia... for years! I had BeoLab 1s sent, a BeoCentre 1 on the high stand sent, BeoLab 4000's, BeoLab 3's, Beosound 3000, BeoVision 9-50. BeoVision 3-32 motor base, etc etc etc... not to mention always throwing in gifts and discounts to boot. Never had I had so much faith in a business than yours, and I'm terribly melancholic to read this news. Going to miss you

  • Re: Loud does not equal good...

Loud is better if they're good speakers. I loved turning my speakers up when I had Beolab 1's , Beolab 2 and also the Beolab 9's. That visceral experience is impressive because they're beautiful speakers and it's not what you expect if you're new to the brand. I know sure as hell i'll want to hear the Beolab 90 turned up, why drive a Ferrari at 40mp/h?

  • Re: Seller beware - an eBay rant!

I've experienced this before as a seller too. It's the worst. You were lucky you sold it as parts/not working! Don't give them a cent.
