• Re: Any rumors about 2015 TV products?

I guess those who like to bag the style of the V1 must regard the red dot design award panel as being a bunch of design ignoramus... I adore mine and will not part with it. http://red-dot.de/pd/online-exhibition/work/?code=2013-17-2656&lang=en Cheers John...

  • Re: BeoPlay H2
This makes, what, 5 different headphones B&O makes? Add the upcoming H8 and it's 6. Then again, companies like Klipsch that have been making high end speakers since the 1940s now seem to make a ton of different headphones. I remember when Sonance first really started getting traction for in wall speakers, within a couple of years every single speaker maker seemed to offer at least 4 or 5 different in wall/in ceiling speakers. Fashions and fads I guess...with

  • Re: Ok. I've done it!
Thanks guys, yeah i hope it will be good too. I did have 2 PS3s but sold them before my PS4 came in to my ownership. I don't mind using the game controller for it, so it's fine. Now i'm fantasising about a BV for the bedroom - but then I think no. There are no catch up services - and thats the one place I use them. This could be a wake up call (pardon the pun) for B&O to get their HBBTV platform in line with Aussie standards.
Michael

  • Re: Speaker choice for dance room
I was going to mention Klipsch's as well. The corner one you mention is the Klipschhorn. It was the first speaker Paul Klipsch marketed back in the 50s. It's been modernized, better drivers and horns, and is over 104 db/watt efficient. These things will part your hair with a 10 watt amp. Something like this or a Pro type speaker are the only things that will survive the abuse given for a dance room kind of application. Any and all normal audiophile speakers are

  • Re: What drives your BeoLab 5's or BeoLab not5's?

Afternoon all, Very interesting thread and comments I second the expressions of enthusiasm and respect for Geoff's blog site and for his contributions to not only B&O, but the audio world especially, which of course includes Beoworld I voted 3, as I have a V1-40 to which is connected a pair of Beolab 9's. Main audio/critical listening source is an Apple TV connected via HDMI to the V1-40, streaming ALAC files from my ITunes library on my Mac. Given that it's now open source, I wonder

  • Re: SACD Hybrid reading ?

It sounds as if I'm still out of luck playing M/C SACD's via my Sony Bluray player through the HDMI input then for the time being. At the time I tried it and got no sound, I checked the Sonys specs, and it outputs DSD converted to PCM at 88.2 as I recall.
Hi John, Apologies if I trouble you, but have you tried to play your SACDs recently? I'm curious as to whether you would get a different result, specially because

Without wishing to put Geoff to any great trouble, I wonder if he could comment if this issue with the processor/DAC re M/C SACD in the V1/BV11 family has been addressed.
Hi, I've already started asking about this - since it's an issue that affects me at home as well.. The answers I've received so far are: No changes have been made to the sampling rate compatibility of the HDMI inputs. This means that 88.2 kHz

  • Re: SACD Hybrid reading ?
Hi All, I have an Oppo player (BDP-105D) connected to a BV11 and since the last BV update (of may 2014) I've been able to play multi-channel SACD soundtracks, as long as you set the player to convert DSD to PCM. In fact, I've also been able to play the DSD64 sample files (both in 2 channels and multi-channels), which Oppo makes available in its website. Finally, I’ve tested some 24bit tracks (in FLAC) directly in the BV11’s home media player and

  • Re: SACD Hybrid reading ?
I own lots of Hybrid SACD/CD's and I have never found a single CD player that was unable to play the CD layer of any of my discs. Cheers -geoff
I own lots of hybrid SACD's as well Geoff. A while back there was a thread about playing the M/C SACD soundtrack in the context of the DAC as found in V1, BV-11 etc, and the realisation that the DAC would not play the M/C SACD soundtrack (converted from DSD to PCM in the connected player) unless one had
