• Re: Horizon update?
Personally I am hoping it will because then it will be a consideration for me for a new tv. The dealer I spoke to didn’t want to reveal too much, which I fully understand. He was just advising me to wait until October for the new model before making a large tv/sound bar purchase. I told him I will, so that’s all I know I am afraid. I would be very surprised (and disappointed) if it didn’t I must admit, and I wouldn’t buy it in this case

  • Re: Can you recommend a 4K Blu-ray player?
Loving my new LG GX OLED 4K panel. Looking at getting a 65" for another room. Obviously it looks at it's best with the best source. ie. 4K is so good I can't even explain how good. With this in mind, tempted to get a 4K Blu-ray player. I still have an old Oppo 103 standard Blu-ray. Which would would you recommend which is reasonable value?
Sorry to be bit late to the thread on this, but thought I'd add a few comments given I've just bought

  • Re: Mainstream review of H9 3rd gen

Thank you for the review link; as a very recent owner of a pair of H9's Gen 3, I would concur with every point made in the review. I particularly like that they work so well for travel, commuting etc with the ANC/Bluetooth wireless mode, yet, using them in quieter surroundings in wired mode definitely allows them to perform at their sonic best. I use them with my iPhone XS and Apple Music, and also my iPhone 7 Plus which is full of CD's ripped to iTunes in ALAC and loaded onto the phone which

  • Re: Some good news for Australia

It's great news - and a location in Chadstone is surely going to be excellent for foot traffic entering through the door. Thus far I've been happy with Tivoli - they've been around for decades, have a lot of knowledge, and seem to be doing a good job with their new B&O dealership. Nice shop, good staff, no attitude and excellent service. Cheers John

  • Re: BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen
In that case - when you already have a set of bt earphones - why not use these for convenience and buy a set of pure cabled over the ears like the H6 for more concentrated listening? MM
As I understand it, the H6's are no longer available new. Versatility favours the H9 with the addition of ANC - a boon for use in any noisy indoor/outdoor situation, provided you have a backpack or the like to carry them. I would think they would better the E8 2.0
...and btw, aptx means nothing to iPhone people, only to Android folks. Just fyi.
That's interesting and thank you for that info - I get that aptx is a higher bitrate for bluetooth wireless connectivity, but am unsure how that benefits Android OS phones and not IOS phones. I assume apple doesn't support it, and hence its plain vanilla Bluetooh 4.2 for them? On the other hand, I would also assume that as you can use an cable if the power of the

  • Re: A pleasant pondering...
Why not hold your breath a while? To see, what - if something - is coming from B&O. Your possible savings could be used for an Eclipse 55, if nothing comes or nothing that you would appreciate comes. I am sure the Horizon, BV14, Avant MK2/NG have matured with the latest updates, but still they are ‘in-between-tv’s’ - and for an Android based tv too old. IMO a 1st gen Avant 55 (I enjoy mine) or the BV11-55 wiuld be better - you know that platform

HDR is important, mainly because as I understand it, with 4k and the increased colour gamut used, Dolby Vision and HDR 10 + seem to be 'default' specifications as regards getting the very best picture from the new standards - at least from reading - i have not done A/B comparisons of 4k TV's running Dobly Vision/HDR 10+ and those without to see the difference. Unfortunately I cannot say as to which Avant model - I would assume Mk 2. Here in Australia, B&O was in the recent past few

  • A pleasant pondering...

As my V1-40 TV and Beolab 9 speakers have just passed their 6th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on what an outstanding purchase they have been and how much joy and pleasure they have given me. From having saved me from the angst and obsessions of the audiophile world, to delivering the best sound and picture I've ever experienced in my home, to the absolute best overall ownership experience of any audio kit I've ever owned in more than a few decades, they are easily the best AV purchase

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen App 2.0 is open for beta testing

Yesterday saw me having to restore/reinstall the OS on my iPad, as it has been playing up for a few days, constantly rebooting etc. Being an older iPad the earlier B&O remote app works on it just fine, and is my main method of controlling my system. Whilst the iPad was being reformatted I used the latest B&O app on my iPhone running IOS 12.1 and the Beo4 to control my system. Despite being probably the worlds best infra red hand held remote control, I still personally prefer a touch pad app
