Why not hold your breath a while? To see, what - if something - is coming from B&O. Your possible savings could be used for an Eclipse 55, if nothing comes or nothing that you would appreciate comes. I am sure the Horizon, BV14, Avant MK2/NG have matured with the latest updates, but still they are ‘in-between-tv’s’ - and for an Android based tv too old. IMO a 1st gen Avant 55 (I enjoy mine) or the BV11-55 wiuld be better - you know that platform

  • A pleasant pondering...

As my V1-40 TV and Beolab 9 speakers have just passed their 6th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on what an outstanding purchase they have been and how much joy and pleasure they have given me. From having saved me from the angst and obsessions of the audiophile world, to delivering the best sound and picture I've ever experienced in my home, to the absolute best overall ownership experience of any audio kit I've ever owned in more than a few decades, they are easily the best AV purchase

HDR is important, mainly because as I understand it, with 4k and the increased colour gamut used, Dolby Vision and HDR 10 + seem to be 'default' specifications as regards getting the very best picture from the new standards - at least from reading - i have not done A/B comparisons of 4k TV's running Dobly Vision/HDR 10+ and those without to see the difference. Unfortunately I cannot say as to which Avant model - I would assume Mk 2. Here in Australia, B&O was in the recent past few

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen App 2.0 is open for beta testing

Yesterday saw me having to restore/reinstall the OS on my iPad, as it has been playing up for a few days, constantly rebooting etc. Being an older iPad the earlier B&O remote app works on it just fine, and is my main method of controlling my system. Whilst the iPad was being reformatted I used the latest B&O app on my iPhone running IOS 12.1 and the Beo4 to control my system. Despite being probably the worlds best infra red hand held remote control, I still personally prefer a touch pad app

Spending most of your time on the Now Playing screen is OK for music, not for TV.
For sure, there are many (different) user cases. But I am with you on that one....almost. I still don’t get the necessity for pulling the tv control features (from the BeoRemote app) into the app. Or should I say, I don’t understand the focus, that some users have on this. I don’t control my tv with an app - for this I have

  • Re: B&O Australia and New Zealand under new management
I also went in to Premium Sound at St Kilda this morning to have a goosey gander. Highly impressed with the customer service. I thought it was going to be some chop shop. But it was marvellous and high end. One person bought something and they walked out to the car with him to help. I thought I only did that. Although I won’t buy Bose anymore for home audio. They had a good setup of that too. But it’s B&O as soon as you enter and it’s not

It is indeed a mess. And possibly why change was needed. When you can find a pair of Beolab 50's in a David Jones store, and yet cannot find any staff who know anything about them, and when so Called Premium Sound - which used to be the Bose store - is now selling B&O alongside Bose and Sonos, something is very wrong re marketing and image perception. James and Terry at Richmond had decades of real world HiFi and video experience behind them - both professionally and in their own personal

  • Re: BeoPlay V1-40 wireless connections
I am far from being unhappy of the V1, this is mostly considered as the B&O “ugly duck” but I still see it as a wonderfully designed set. The picture is very good when the Image is set to Movie (superbly deep blacks for an LCD display), the sound is great and the Beo4 is a superb remote control, I love it. On the flip side I am still wondering if I’d buy another one in the future. Some of the items I have listed above, such as the lack of product

Ooops.... I feel embarrassingly dense...lol... I was trying to scroll through the list of TV's in the App vertically, and didn't think to scroll horizontally... found the V1 and all connected. The app looks nice but the functionality seems severely limited compared to the full functionality found in the B&O remote app. I hope B&O will update it to run with the latest IOS.. Many thanks again... blushing with embarrassment...
