• Re: Roll-up oled screen LG great design opportunity B&O
I'm thinking they could use a metal cylinder shape and use the old projector screen layout where the screen could be flipped 90 degrees vertical to become a long vertical cylinder. A ready Festivus pole!
Stop calling me a sexist pig darling, it's not just a stripper pole, it's also a TV!

Right now, the single most artistic and creative TV I've seen, which I never would have expected from who makes it, is the Samsung Art. Something that in better days I would have expected out of B&O not Samsung, but it's an amazingly artistic and well thought out product.
I agree, but with a couple of qualifications. The concept of showing a white frame mount picture on the screen when not viewing TV/DVD etc can

  • Re: Beosound Core or Sonos connect amp?
If You buy an Auralic Mini (price almost equal to the Core and Sonos) you will get a very good streamer with very good sound quality. /Martin
I can vouch for this. My friend has one, it's a superb product and has been trouble free. If/when my Playmaker goes belly up, this is what I'll replace it with.

  • Re: Wiring for shielded 2 pin DIN speaker connection

Afraid I have no idea on this specific thing, but when making up standard RCA terminated interconnects for line level signals, the procedure used was to make a quasi-balanced cable by using a twisted pair for the signal, gnd and hot, with a braided shield over both wires. The shield braid was usually attached to the gnd wire at the end that plugged into the sourcing component, say a preamp, and left unattached to the gnd wire at the other end, usually at the amp, for a preamp/amp connection. On unbalanced

  • Re: House wiring power requirement

I had dedicated 20 amp lines put in to my stereo center, just to be safe. I did this back before I had any B&O, and I do not have the BL5s but now have the 9s. Two things to consider, 1000 watts, or the total 2500, would be VERY loud, unless you were trying to implode a bowling ball at the listening position those will only be hit very briefly on short peaks, even then the average will be quite loud. Second, the BL5 uses Class D ICE Power amps, which are much more efficient than Class A or AB

Coming soon to BeoPlay undoubtedly, as soon as they figure out how to make the BluTooth unreliable.

  • Re: External Dacs

A few years ago I did some controlled listening tests with a number of various DACs, some with fairly radically different technologies (16 bit 4x oversampled, 18 bit, 1 bit bitstream ones). I found that even before single or double blinding the test, once I level matched them it was impossible for me or the other test subjects to reliably tell any difference. A DAC's job is not that demanding, no matter how much different DAC companies talk about gilding the lily. Some low end DACs I believe

  • Re: Beosound 9000 CD problem.

Tucker, Benny Amina is up in Roswell west of Atlanta. I can look up his info if you need it, just PM or email me. For cleaning the laser I use a CD that has little brushes on it and automatically moves to the right place when you play it, might check Amazon for something similar.
