• Re: Beolab 11 - opinions for music reproduction?
My own experience with the combo 8000 & 11 is very positive. Can't say the bass goes super deep or is very pronounced, but the 11 definitely improves the music. And the 11 is a very beautiful object. Better looking than the 2 or 19 imo
A stunning piece of art, almost worth buying for that alone regardless of performance.

  • Re: What are you WATCHING "right now' ?

Second season of Hanna has dropped on Amazon, interesting, not quite as much as first season so far but I'm early into it.

  • Re: What Are You Reading Now?

I seldom find a book that gets better the more I read it, unfortunately most get worse it seems! Interesting sounding book. I have to admit I've not been reading enough lately, there's been a lot to do around the house and a lot of paperwork and by the time evening rolls around I usually just watch some telly for an hour or two and nod off. I've got quite a backlog in my queue on my Kindle. The book on Unrestricted Warfare is hard to read more than a bit at a time, for two reasons. One

  • Re: WISA in 2020?

Seems wifi band crowding and interference will always be an issue no matter what band. I'm fortunate enough I can't even see my neighbors wifi hubs, occasionally one will peak and show up and immediately disappear. Instead of moving everything away from 5 GHz I went to 5 GHz from 2.4 in an attempt to get my Beolink Wirelss setups to work reliably. They were mostly reliable until I got a new alarm system with wireless sensors but that seems to stomp on them so I had to abandon them. Wisa still

  • Re: Experiences with U.S. B&O dealers?

Also, Austin is not much like the Great State Of Texas in general, other than the climate. It's more hipster central rather than cowboys. You need to get away from it and other large cities to find the real Texas. Same for Florida, get away from the beaten path, from the Tourist Meccas, and find what Florida is or at least used to be.

Is that one of the dreaded "white vans" there?

  • Re: Multichannel listening

I've heard multichannel music at various times, the potential is definitely there, the problem, as with the original quadrophonic, is getting source material. I have a CD of the music from Blade Runner, by Vangelis, recorded only in Dolby Pro Logic, not even Dolby Digital, just simple Pro Logic, and on a decent surround 5.1 system it sounds just jaw droppingly stunning. I had at one time a demo DVD-A disc, full 5.1 digital, which included some Diana Krall and Donald Fagen stuff that would just

  • Re: A day with a Bluesound Node 2i.
Another way to phrase this is, if only those who have achieved an uncommon competence can hear something, then one must conclude that it is also imperceptible to the common. Regardless, people are always free to listen to whatever they want. IMHO, any criticism in this thread is directed at the audio industry that promotes "hi rez" music formats as "amazingly wonderful", yet maybe, as admitted here, only uncommonly competent people can actually hear

  • Re: Experiences with U.S. B&O dealers?
If you're planning to go somewhere near-ish, you might also want to consider B&O in Portland - sales tax is cheaper too! I live in NorCal now, too (relocated from UK), and it's a shame, if you ask me... I've mentioned it before, but there was a time the SF Bay Area had 5 dealers.
Between the virus and the shrieking, violent, Antifa freak show that is Portland, I don't think now is the time to go to shop for B&O there.

  • Re: Experiences with U.S. B&O dealers?
Perhaps The Emperor's New Clothes is required reading in US primary school, or there is a cultural bias for Form following Function and people buying for THEIR reasons and not yours ? How else could you possibly explain B&O not selling well?
Shocking isn't it, the damned plebeians don't like the same thing self appointed patricians do. Seriously, in addition to the above it's awfully hard to make inroads into a market, like the US, when
