  • Re: relocate my B&O collection... or sell it..?

Just get the appropriate converters. You've got classic B&O gear, and in my opinion not much of what's currently available from them is worth the price. Even if you're here years the power converters would be fine, save your money by not changing internal power supplies and just put any savings towards replacement when the time finally comes. Buy an Apple TV and stream video. Cable TV over here is overpriced and underquality, more and more people are abandoning it and streaming things

  • Re: BeoLab 6000 or pair of Beoplay s3's

I’d have to go with the BL6000. With it you not only have a speaker but a design icon by David Lewis, and a part or the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. I’ll admit I haven’t heard the S3 as my dealer went under before I ever got to hear one, but I’d still go BL6000.

Will BeoPlay managed to "kill" BeoPlay?

  • Re: Beogram 3000 linear-tracking: tonearm weight query

Ultimately it doesn't matter what the sliding scale says, nor what the round counterweight adjustment on a conventional tonearm says, what matters is the actual tracking force as measured with a gauge/scale. I've had a number of conventional tables with conventional arms, and have often found the dial on the counterweight to be off a bit. Especially on arms where the tracking force is set with springs, as the springs age the calibration of dial reading to actual force gets more, well, optimistic

[quote user="Beofan67"] Times are as hard as one experience. Technology evolves more rapidly than light these days. What you buy today is not state of the art tomorrow. This is not only true for B&O products. So if you want the best there is on the market for your money you should accept that this is only temporary and for a shorter period than ever before . I wonder if the “better black” in the LG8 panel can be noticed by the human eye. Same for the other specs. For me

  • Re: Midprice Turntable + Preamp Recommendations

I've gone through several iterations of video media. Long ago I abandoned VHS tape, it was a very bad copy of Blade Runner that drove me away, so I got a Laser Disc player. Then, when I got a flat panel plasma TV, I got rid of all my LDs and replaced most of them with DVD. I've resisted replacing most of my DVDs with BluRays, only a couple of significant favorite movies, like the aforementioned Blade Runner. I find it interesting how similar our taste in movies seems to be. I'm kind of

  • Re: My B&O is more than specs

"New" is not always better is it? And plasma was a technology that died for reasons unrelated to performance. I've never seen a plasma set that had the motion artifacts of the newer technology sets. But, an awful lot of what the consumer electronic business does, in the whole, is to try and get people to churn their gear by promising new, improved, if you don't have (insert buzzword here) you're just not cool tech that often isn't and is there only to make you change your

Looks very nice, carbon fiber arm? And looking at your shelves, vHS tapes?!?! Wow,, but I also notice your collection could very well be mine, we apparently have the same taste in movies!

  • Re: Beovision 5 conversion to Sound bar.

Bravo! I love seeing old, “real” B&O gear adapted for the modern world rather than being scrapped. Great work!
