• Re: Beoremote Halo, the future B&O remote control
I have had all of mine mounted to plasterboard with screws and no plugs for years without the slightest hint of trouble. I don't think plugs are needed at all. 2x Beosound Moment 4x Beosound Essence Mk II 3x Beolab 8000 1x Beolab 6000 1x Beolab 3 3x Beolab 2 4x BeoPlay M5 1x BeoPlay A6 9x Essence Remote
I‘m an Engineer! Anything with a safety factor less than 10 is inherently life threatening.
Looks very nice, but 10,000 euros is absurd.
Only if they don’t sell them all at that price. If they do it’s good marketing.
i think the screws are around 1” long. No anchors. 2x Beosound Moment 4x Beosound Essence Mk II 3x Beolab 8000 1x Beolab 6000 1x Beolab 3 3x Beolab 2 4x BeoPlay M5 1x BeoPlay A6 9x Essence Remote
How you fix it will depend on the surface you are mounting it on. I would certainly use nylon wall plugs in a brick or concrete wall. Plasterboard needs special wall plugs or there is a danger of the screws working loose after time.
Gracenote hasn’t disappeared. Spotify connect hasn’t disappeared. B&O has simply chosen to remove those services from products that their customers had already bought and paid for.
I don’t believe B&O just chose to remove the services. If I recall correctly there were changes to the T&C’s that they couldn’t or wouldn’t comply with.

  • Re: Question - Multiple Beosound Essence Remotes

In the device configuration menu there is a section where the remote controls can be associated with the device. I guess you need to take out the remote that shouldn’t affect the device Tim

  • Re: How to connect...

I started off with the same setup. Beocenter2300 + Beolab 6000 Then added an Avant 28RF. Then a Beosound 3000 + Beolab 4000 Then an Avant 55 Then a Beolab 3500 Then an Essence MK2 Then an M5 All still in good use today. Only the telephones have been put to rest.

  • How to connect...

You need only the Beo4 remote. I think the blackbox is the Beolink Converter 1611. This connects the Masterlink of the Beovision to the Datalink of the Beocenter. The TV needs to be set to Option 2 the Beocenter to Option 0 (Assuming the speakers are connected to the TV and the Beocenter is in the same room. ) Tim

I am not at home so can’t verify exactly which menus, but from memory after selecting a device you can bring up the control screen with the volume circle. On the right hand side there is either a join icon (or is it the 3 dots?) There you can see the multiroom group and add or remove devices, and also change each volume individually. Tim

  • Re: Beoremote Halo, the future B&O remote control

That is exactly my point. There were comments wanting laws to ensure products are supported for x number of years. It is out of B&O s control if a particular service disappears. Anybody that has suffered several days without internet due to damage to a cable is glad to have a stack of CD‘s and an FM aerial together with a „magic door“ Beosound
But isn’t that practically the same with say a BS9000....you only can enjoy this as long as you can buy CD’s and the
To me the problem is brands mix up "dropping support" which is natural beyond a certains point (like many other I think around 10 years) and "Killing the product" which is making it unusable or inoperable (like Sonos did). I buy a product, I don't rent it, it's mine, so if I want to use it I must be able as long as I want. The increase of online services on which depends hardware as given the perfect excuse to manufacturers to decide
