• Re: PS3 to turn on Avant

I have a Pinnacle ShowCentre attached to the DVD Scart input. When I switch on the ShowCentre my Avant either turns on or changes over to DVD. I think you must have Scart cables that are fully wired as the signal is transmitted over one of the pins. Tim

  • Re: B&O online buying

Looking at the "Impressum" which gives the details of the site owner (as required by German law). It appears it is owned by a company that runs several B&O stores here in Germany, including my local dealers. So I would say it is not an "official" B&O store but run by an official B&O dealer franchise. As always with mail-order in Germany you would have 14 days to return, no questions asked. I'd say it would be wiser to visit a dealers and try to get a better deal
At the end of this Idea guide, Please confirm that absence of a specific mention of BV9 in the integration of an OPPO 93 BD player is an oversight, as BV9 contains a 50" BV4 panel and a BS3
The BV9 is no longer available. The ideas catalogue is intended for dealers to promote current products. Tim

  • Re: B&O would like our feedback....
I miss a section for Multiroom features for both audio and video. I fear the next gen beonet is not goong to happen (multiroon audio and video distribution), and by the look of it new product laks ML. I recently asked B&O customer service about the roumered converter between ML and beonet and they told me it was cancelled..... Thomas
On every page there is a section on connectivity which has a video showing the multi-room functionality. The term BeoLink

  • Re: B&O would like our feedback....

Just saw this on the B&O Facebook page. It was in response to a comment that the phones were no longer featured on the new webpage. Tim Quote: Do not despair - you can still see and buy the famous BeoCom phones in our stores - no change in this. Upon designing the new website and preparing the launch, we decided to focus on the core products for a start. As the site develops we will add more relevant information and we are also working on a mobile / pad version. Thank you for your comments.

  • iPhone Cover

I had an invitation from my local B&O shop here in Germany to come in any time on Friday or Saturday for a presentation of the new Play range. Although I had already been in a couple of weeks ago, I called in again to enter the prize draw for a Beolit 12 ( up to now no luck with the Beoworld one , have to wait and see how I did this time) I think my wife may be lucky enough to get an A8 for her next birthday! I was given a B&O Play iPhone cover which is actually pretty good. Tim

  • Re: Beolink question

Miele do a range of appliances that can be networked through a gateway.. Its called Miele@Home. There are 2 built in coffee machines that are compatible. While I can imagine the connectivity could be useful for monitoring for fire, flooded etc I personally don't need to get an email every time the dishwasher is finished. Tim

  • Re: Beotalk 1200 Voice Anouncement
The announcement will ONLY be made if there is a minimum of 3 digits and a maximum of 13
Not quite true I think.... I have added an "Anonymous" announcement if the number is suppressed. I was thinking about setting it up so that any caller with the number suppressed are diverted to an message saying that only calls with a visible number will be answered. Luckily anonymous calls are now very rare, call centres in Germany are no longer allowed

  • Re: Controlling Siemens remote sockets/dimmers with beo5?

If you are referring to the Delta range of products, these are controlled by radio and not infra-red so no B&O remote will be able to control these out of the box. You will need either a device to translate the infra red to radio or maybe the masterlink gateway which could work as the Siemens system seems to be EIB/KNX-based. Ask you local dealer. regards Tim

Some people are just coming back from their *Summer* holidays. It's still 28c in Southern Italy. Only Brits could say it's nearly Christmas.
