Growing up in the 70s, the two record players my family had were both changers. We were always losing the adapter that allowed you to play a stack of 45s (very handy for junior high school dance parties).
!959 my parents bought a new radio with all bells and whistles, I got the old radio/turntable "cupboard" and a stack of mixed 78/45/33 records, one of them was a 78 Bill Haley Rock around the clock, beside the radio i had a chair, where i sometimes

  • Re: Beovox 3000 repairs
I have often wondered what has happened to all those original wall brackets... I guess all the speakers was originally sold with brackets -but I've seen so many used sets sold without brackets...Why can't these sellers just take the brackets off the wall and sell them with the speakers Do they leave the brackets on the walls when they move -or what... Are there some sicko's who just like to collect brackets They can't just disappear... Or can they

  • BM 5000 Stack

Cleaned and checked CD50 and Beocord, BG working since 2 years, now onto BM 5000 and MCP, The BM gets a little warm even on standby, the MCP has something with the Bass, treble display, it works but the value lines shows, flat no lines OK, increase shows 3 lines or non, same with decrease, Balance and volume shows all lines as should.

  • Re: Speakers with dry veneer
I had a long developed misconception concerning wood veneers in that they needed oiling to keep them from drying out. I weekend trip to a wood specialty shop showed me the error in my thinking. Wood dries out alright, but only in very dry climates and when exposed to excessive sunlight. The suggestions made in this forum to use Danish oil were not made to rejuvenate the veneer but rather to refinish it. These speakers would benefit from refinishing, but they are probably
I am also looking for the original wall mounts....If you had any recommendations where to look...
Hi Rudy I put 2 screws in the wall exactly where the wall mounts hooks into the speaker, just make sure you get the screws level.

  • Beocord 5000 Mexico

Got to the Beocord yesterday, everybody knows how to take of the top cover, so here goes. Take of the command panel, pres the taps. red arrows, to the inside and upwards with a screw driver, then carefully pull the panel up and out.Be careful there is a cable connection below. Now take off all the red pressure taps, press down with a finger and wiggle a little with a screw driver between tap and chassis, careful, old plastic. Free the PCB support and raise it to upright pos. both sides, green arrow
Rambling? Well quite possibly I was, sorry about that. I know a fair deal about Bang & Olufsen products, but by NO means do I present myself as an expert. As such I hope you will forgive my confusion in regard to these speakers. My original and ugly pair of S-45 speakers were a gift from a friend in California who wanted me to use them in conjunction with my Beomaster 2400. There are problems with these speakers beyond appearance and I decided to use my original
