• My Small Town

México DF My small town Forget all the negative you hear and read about Mexico City, if you like a city that lives 24 hours a day ,where you can choose whether you will see a soccer game, go to the theater, hear a music concert, see an art exhibition, go to a fair or a circus, every day of the year, it's here. Mexico City or DF as we call it, is a charming blend of all opposites imaginable, one sees Spanish 1600 century palaces beside modern glass hotels, luxury villas next to the cardboard
Hi The 2400 and the 5500 decks are 7 pin Din's-- what else do I need to get?
The 7 pin din plugs has 2 pins screwed into the plug, take a close look and you will see that you can screw them out with a small screw driver, then you can connect them to the preamp using this one if the 4004 has RCA you can connect that one directly to the preamp. If you take out the pins, tape them to the plug or the cable, not to loose them or store them where you forgot
Soren Took your recco and ordered the pre amp I will likely sk you the sequence of adding the turntable and the 2300 ( just not my forte) if that is okay with you Jonathan
No problem Jonathan, but get the cable too, now which plugs does your turntables have, DIN or RCA (phonoplugs)

    1. The most popular of the 3 is the 4004, the 2400 is a very good radial tracking turntable and in my opinion underrated. 2. The cartridges for 4004 and 2400 are inter changeable, its the MMC 20 series The 5500 has a MMC 1-5, look here 3. No, you will need a preamp. As for using BS 5500 as preamp, you connect the line out RCA on the BM 5500 to the aux in on 2300 with the fore mentioned cable, or get a male to male 5 pin din plugs cable and use tape 2 to aux. But I recommend to get a preamp and use

To play from a Beogram you will need a preamplifier, some newer Beograms has the preamp build in, but you BG 5500 does not, neither does your BS 2300, some older receiver/amps has the preamp build in , yes confusing. So you will need a preamplifier, I used this one I used this for connecting, BM, Ipod, and TV sound, looks like this

  • Re: BeoVox 2600 Refurbishment
The M70 required 9 capacitors per box, and if I recall correctly, there were two 50 uF, one 30 uF, and a 25 uF. It was not cheap. I know it was easily $100 in capacitors alone.
Here the Org. crossover from my 3702s, also here over USD 100.00 for fancy caps, so I choose not to. 2 x 75 uF, 25 uF, 12 uF and 5 uF, and I would have to make a new board as well.

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now
Anyone got a good idea on how to properly attach some new lettering? I guess using a Dymo label writer with translucent tape and red ink will just look sloppy.
For satin fabric you should look around for T shirt printers or printers where they make text bands for funerals.
In side by side comparison, pair number one (refurbished) has a more laid-back, effortless quality to it. Pair number two is perhaps brighter. Both pairs are pleasing to listen to, but there is clearly a difference. In a quasi-ABX test both my wife and I could identify the unknown every time.
Thats good to hear, new caps do make a difference, now we need to know if there are differences to hear between cheap electrolytic and expensive film caps.
I'm not losing sleep over whether B&O will survive, I think they will. However what I'm stressed about how they haven't figured out better ways to get my cash!
Quite right, B&O never thought about how to get at other peoples money, and I will never never pay USD 100,000.00 to get a new up to date setup, with all the bells and whistles, where, come to think of it, B&O cant deliver it even at that price, their software is outdated
