• Re: Beolab 4000c
Did you use glue to fix veneer? If so, what glue?
I guess Leo will be a bit offended by your question Look closely at the pictures - looks like solid wood all the way through - not just veneer glued on.

  • Re: Beovision 7 32 died
I have just looked at dba and really cannot believe those prices for Beovisions. Proves a point that most of the tech stuff is sourced from ordinary companies. Surely some kind technician could repair these.
It is the old story of "supply and demand"... There were sold lots of those TV's in Denmark back then - that's why the prices are low now. The low prices today does not "prove the point" that the tech stuff was sourced from

  • Re: New to B&O: Looking for TV

Maybe a Beovision MX8000, as it is the newest (as far as I remember it has the option of changing the aspect ratio 4:3/16/9 ). But they are harder to find than the MX7000. Soundwise the LX6000 is the best (imo).
From your signature I understand you have already had a BC 2 in the past, so I presume you know the “beast” quite well. I don’t have one but from what I have read around, it is only preferred to skip one of the earlier versions as they don’t have a tactile feedback when pressing the buttons.
What..? There is no buttons on the BC2...

  • Re: Are B&O having a laugh with the Contour?
My 40” BV11 with a motorised stand was virtually the same price as the 48” Contour is now with the floor stand. I felt it was worth the price because it was a fully integrated setup (surround sound processor, PUC, support for sharing audio using BeoLink multi-room and running in an integrated setup with the Moment).
You're talking about a 40" compared to a 48"...If you will compare prices, it would be more correct to compare the 46"
The Rolex example is silly Rolex make watches a certain level of luxury and finish, and functionality. The equivalent would be if Rolex made a model that sort of looked like the Submariner, but with fewer functions (eg no date window, no second hand), a clearly much less nice finish, but charged 75% of the full Submariner, when at the same time Tudor make the same thing for less (than the 75% price). It would not be well received by the Rolex community. The answer

@andy_js You talk about "upgrading your BV11"... You are aware, that the price of the BV11 was much higher back then, than the price of the Contour today? Why didn't you think the BV11 was too expensive when you bought that? I think we have had this debate a little too often, when B&O launch a new product. The answer is simple - If you think it is too expensive, then it is not for you... From what I have heard, the Contour is selling quite well... And that's what matters. Some

  • Re: Beomaster 4500 switch panel and frame removal

No - I removed the old tape. It is necessary to have a clean surface. The original tape used by B&O was very thin - so the distance (maybe 1/10 of a mm or so) will be roughly the same with glue.
