• Re: The best B&O stereo for a teenager girl

I HAVE heard the Beolit 12 -and it IS one of the best sounding docking stations. BUT -it is not as good as a "real" stereo system with good speakers. And again: He said that he didn't have the money to spend on new stuff... -but wanted something affordable with good sound and good looks = second hand B&O.
The problem is that we always end end buying what we are comfortable with, and probably what we used when of a similar age. I used to work on a University project a few years back and every single one of the students who were mostly male, used MP3 as their media of choice. And that was 2005. i don't know the daughter in question of course, but i would bet that MP3/Lossless would be her current media, and if not the vast majority of her friends. A smart

  • Re: B&O Play TV coming this quarter
I really like the BV8 idea, it makes sense, it's not just look, it's a very good solution for how to do the best sound+vision in a minimal space.
Fair enough -it's a matter of taste. I'm not saying that a tv has to be as flat as possible -there are many other factors that makes a good design. I just never liked the cheap looking plastic design of the BV 8 -and obviously there were not enough people who loved it. Low sales must be the reason why
I'm not knocking b&0 but i have to be honest in saying again that the bv8-40 design was and still is much, much better.
Surely, You cannot be serious!!! (I am serious -and don't call me Shirley) (quote: Leslie Nielsen in "The Naked Gun") IMO the BV 8 was the worst design from B&O in decades...What's the idea of 'bringing depth' to a flatscreen - when everybody else is making the panels thinner and thinner...

  • Re: "B&O Teams Up With Designers To Launch Inspirational Living...
Ah? You saw it? The PLAY range will be designed by younger designers. David Lewis (as a company) remains the main design company for the main line.
Well - I think Anders Hermansen did quite well with the BeoSound 5...(must be within the 'Main Line')

You're absolutely right, Søren. If you go for the vintage stuff, it'll be even much cheaper than a Century. But then again -when we're talking about things that are about 30-40 years old, you'll have to be very lucky to find items in good condition. If you go for a refurbished item, I guess it'll cost quite a bit..? May I ask how much you payed for that refurbished 1900 with speakers..?
If you were wanting to purchase a used B&O stereo, probably for the same money you will be able to get a BeoLit12.
Francois started out, saying that they didn't have much money to spend on this -so I don't think they'll want to buy new stuff... And one can surely find second hand B&O cheaper than both Beolit12 and BS 8. I would suggest a BS Century, because you then won't have to buy separate speakers (which can be quite expensive

  • Repairs on a BG 6500

I have just bought a white BG 6500 very cheap, because the arm wasn't moving. When I opened it, I saw why... the little 'tab' to which the wires were fixed had broke off... As far as I remember, there was a thread on this subject on the old Forum -but I didn't have the patience to try and find it... So I looked in one of my 'junk boxes' and found a little piece of plastic with a tab: -this one. I don't know what it originally was made for... But it was exactly what I needed
