• Re: Beomaster 8000, displaying 888 and another not working at all

On the board the midldle leg is shortcircuited with one of the outer ones. But the between these 2 and the other outer leg, the resistance has to vary. As you already mentioned. It needs more measuring, thats obvious. Probably also mentioned earlier, what voltage do you measure across the (emittor) resistors in the outputstage? There has to be measured an idle current. A zero or to low current results in distortion. Anyway imho anyone aming to achieve a lower idle current than given, doesn't

  • Re: Beomaster 5500 tuner misbehavior

My first impression with such strange behaviour is, that the BM5500 needs a good overhaul. Some 10uF capacitors in the tuner section needs to be replaced. But byside that there are more located in the powersupply section, which needs to be replaced. Such behaviour can happen just from one to another day...

  • Re: Popcorn hour A-400

  • Re: Beomaster 8000, displaying 888 and another not working at all

But, does the resistance vary when turning? On the middle leg that is. Does R200 affect the offset voltage? Are the correct voltages on the output stages present?

  • Re: BeoSound 5 / BeoMaster 5 Power-on Volume setting ?

Masterlink has a fixed audio level. The solution has to be found storing the right audio level in the ML/MCL box. Try : sound store store with a beolink 1000 or Speaker store store with a Beo4.
Has anyone really gone to town on a BM 5000 overhaul like this chap called Yachadm in Israel ??
Yep, done several versions from BM5000's till BM7000's and many other beautiful vintage from B&O. But so does other's. Look at the workbench section, and you'll get an impression who does.

  • Re: Beomaster 1900 remote controlled by Beolink 1000
The AVR microcontroller in the Teensy has quite versatile I/O ports; you can program them to sink & source current, also open collector (open drain actually) if I remember right, and tri-state (high impendance) as well. So this could just as well be done with PNP transistors driven low. I would
Couldn't remember the exact naming at that moment, Thanks.
