• Re: Your latest addi(c)tion?
That front panel is so cool on the CD50! What a crazy find
Yes, super cool! Would like to hear and see more about how the display differs from the normal CD50. Fascinating that they did start with (I guess; more advanced display and) opening front with buttons (a la Beomaster 5000) but decided to get rid of it! I think you did grab a very unique set of B&O prototypes!

  • Re: EPROM Beomaster 7000 and Beocenter 9500
There is no software 1.4 for Beomaster 7000....the latest is 1.3 that enables 2 way communication with BL5000/7000
I believe BM7000 was 2-way from the beginning, my unit is software 1.0 (by the sticker on the back and by the sticker on the chip) and it's two-way. I haven't seen any release notes on what was fixed on the later versions but I believe (based on some older discussions) that it was related to some exotic multi-room setups where some combinations

  • Re: Beomaster 7000 no contact issue

If it's IR, it's mainly in the front panel PCB and perhaps the CPU board too, as seen in Mika's Beomaster 6500 slight overhaul thread .

  • Re: What future for bulbs in my LC2s?

I have been wondering this same thing. At the moment I have one 35W halogen in use with my LC1 and I wouldn't like to give it up. (LC1 gives 40W as minimum but 35 seems to work Ok, I can perhaps see a very slight flickering on it when dimmed). I tried to use a Triac-dimmable LED driver (like this ) with my LC2 but it didn't work (it kept flickering very fast).

  • Re: Flash your B&O - new thread!
Well spotted! Indeed it was an AppleTV on the BC1. It really prolonged our use of the BC1. Image quality was excellent, so long as you are happy with Standard Definition and a black bar at the bottom (being 16:9 format). I did find that the quality of the HDMI converter did matter - some have less contrast than others. I used this model: https://www.svideo.com/hdmi2video.html
Thanks! I have been thinking getting something like this for my Beovision 3-32

Is that an AppleTV connected to the BC1? What did you use to convert from HDMI to connect to it? How was the picture quality?

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now

I used a CR2032, that one I was able to source with the correct solder points. Might have slightly lower capacity but hey, the old one lasted over 20 years so perhaps this one will be fine for a while Also easier to fit as it's slightly smaller cell. I seem to have recycled all my removed batteries, can't remember how they measured. But it might be a good starting point to replace it anyway.

I think it's very lightly glued and tightly-fitting. After I had opened mine, I just pressed the top part back down. It does hold but can be pulled out by hand, so it'd probably need new glue but I didn't bother in case I need to open it again.

Hi Martin. I'll need to sit down and write that guide I promised, but before that you can probably use these photos for reference: LC1 (in my Dropbox ). You need to open the bottom (some of my LCs have some weird screw-head used there, some have standard Phillips heads) and unscrew the mains wiring. Then there is one screw on the side that looks like it's doing nothing but you need to remove that, too. Then the top part needs to be detached, I used spades made to open iPhone shells. Don't
