  • Re: Beolink 5000 E-Ink screen repair / mod

I'd be interested in one kit for sure! Just checked my stash and I have three BL5000's: One nice one where I got the LCD mostly working by heating the flatflex (display still has missing lines, but it's readable). One externally good one, with LCD with a small crack (and lots of missing lines), missing battery holder One beat-up unit with completely ripped out LCD, worn-out buttons etc. Perhaps I could build one Ok-looking from the last two, and with your kit have a working display for

  • Re: Your latest addi(c)tion?

Thanks for the link chartz, very cool looking at those prototype CD50 photos.... it has a fan! And two transformers! No wonder "the prototype is heavier: 7.9 kg against 6.2 kg". I quite like the flap-panel and the displays but internally it really looks like a prototype! The real CD50 looks much more refined.

  • Re: Light control 1 LC1 troubleshooting

I've had some success on getting dead LC1s back to life by replacing the battery . Takes a bit of effort to disassemble though.

  • Re: B&O 3D Prints

I just added two file with top- and bottom panels for the LC2 dimmer: . Not perfect fits and could use some more rounding on the edges but still better than missing panels :)

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now

I just fixed a second LC2 light dimmer with the same problem as before . Sold as non-working, it was again resistor R3 that had gone open. No visible damage anywhere, and a simple replacement of the resistor (5.6ohm, 10% 0.4W) bought the unit back to life. This unit had some issues with the contact between the dome and the contacting rubber on the PCB. I used some conductive silver paint on the contact surface on the dome and with some trial and error it now works pretty much Ok.

  • Re: Beolink 7000 power supply

See here: (It's 9V DC 2A (less would probably suffice). Plug: 5,5mm (outer diameter), 2,1mm (inner diameter), center positive) :)

  • Re: Powerlink to Penta 1

There was an official B&O-made adapter (Powerlink Mk2 to RCA + SpeakerLink data pins). I did try that with my BV7 and Penta MkIs, but I couldn't get the displays working in that combo. I don't think it even powered the amps on/off (so I had to let it sense it from the audio, thus on silent passages the amps would switch off). I couldn't make it work, so I went back to connecting the Pentas to my Beosystem 7000, and using a Masterlink converter I can get the audio from the TV thrue

  • Re: B&O promo CDs vol I-XIII

This is a great idea! I remember googling those CDs (I have couple myself, don't think anything that wasn't already mentioned) as well and finding very little results. Also some of the tracks seem very obscure and no lyrics can be found.

  • A workbench-shot in the B&O's Beogram 4000c page

Looking at the B&O's webpage about the BG4000c , there is a photo that caught my eye: If you open the photo in full-size (a JPG with amuzingly name "Beograam_test.jpg") it's quite high-res. The setup appears to be an older, proper workbench with a heavy load of B&O test gear. There are at least four DC power supplies, a multimeter, a variac, a signal/noise meter, all by B&O themselves. Many of them have those red-label serial stickers on the front. The scope is a Techtronix

  • Re: Beolink 7000 back light and recapping.

Good job, and a very nice price for a BL7000 If the buzzing is faint and only heard when the display is on, I'd say that was normal (due to the backlight high voltage coil resonating) and mine does that too.
