• Re: Beolab 8000 Amp Modul removal & repair [Solved]

Well done! It seems very common that those particular traces develop a problem. While you're in there, you should remove the old damping foam and clean the boards - and do the other speaker as well as long as it still works.

"Glued" is about right - it's the goo that used to be the gasket between the module and the pole. It WILL come off simply lifting it, but you will need quite a bit of controlled force. Do not bang it, just keep the force applied and you will see it slowly starting to lift. Work slowly and try to avoid scrathing parts of the pole that will remain visible, as you will probably need to apply some kind of a lever. For the actual problem, look for broken traces at the edges of the PCB (and

And 45 minutes later... I use the smoker quite a bit, but only in summer as this is obviously an outdoor activity. This is an electric smoker - some might call that heresy, but I believe the smoke doesn’t care much what created it. And you have at least some idea how long it’s going to take. Haven’t really tried much else than various fish, though. Usually great results, but small vendaces are easy to overdo. The actual recipe this time - for the smoke, cuttings of alder, a fresh twig of juniper

  • Re: Buying a remote just for switching to the AV channel on my MX2000

OK, I finally had access to my MX2000. There really is no channel step button on the control panel. Looks like your options are: connect the VCR with an RF cable and tune to the channel, should be possible without a remote Get the proper remote Or a suitable universal remote Apply the control voltage externally as suggested above No other way as far as I can tell, sorry.
Hi Mika, thanks for the reply. I have tried for a fair while to find some sort of combination of buttons that would allow me to move through the programs but with no success. As you said, the manual doesn't mention anything in regards aside from saying that you can turn on the unit by holding the "tune" switch...
I'm 98% confident there's a separate rocker button for stepping the programs (and it's in the circuit diagram). Can
I've looked at the manual for the beo4 and it does appear to list "MX models" under the compatibility list. Maybe a "limited" compatibility?
NO! MX2000 (and MX1500) are completely different. See my answer above. I reread your earlier post and it seems you are using the wrong buttons (tuning) when you should be stepping. I don’t remember what the actual button says and the manual doesn’t show it, but keep trying...

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 preamp

Grounding the unused inputs is used to limit crosstalk from non-selected channels. Depending on the impedances of the input and output signals, it may or may not be needed with a replacement, as a 40+ yo original IC certainly won’t be current state of art. A basic 4066 may not be optimal, but If I was faced with this problem I’d certainly try just as a $1 proof of concept - there are any number of better performing analog switches that’d work as an upgrade for a final solution.

Yes you will need the ”Mars bar” Video Terminal, none of the later Beolink 1000 compatible remotes will do a thing. I’m not with my MX2000 right now, but I don’t think even the correct remote will get you anywhere with this problem. It doesn’t have an AV button as such. In the user manual, program 0 is stated to be for ”satellite TV”, but I seem to recall you can step to that from the control panel as well. So If it doesn’t work now, a remote won’t

I couldn't find AD10/278 data sheet anywhere, but functionally it looks like a 4066 would be a drop in replacement - although with a different pinout...
