Here's a shot of the new 'Play' remote.. Identifiable by the big B&O logo!
...which is quite tacky compared to the old small text logo, but thank heavens it doesn't say anything like "Beo4Play"!

  • Re: Beogram 5500 and a Beosystem 2300

I guess in principle you could use the TAPE2/AUX connection of the Beomaster 5500 to output a line level signal to the 2300 (while the 5500 is playing phono)... but it really gets so complicated with the conflicting remote control issues etc, that I really wouldn't bother.unless to perhaps prove a point.

  • Re: 4002/5513 second question- arm action with STOP command

As I understand it, they both start operating at the same time, so inevitably the arm will move before the needle has completely lifted off the tracks, because there's some mechanical slack in the lift mechanism. In other words, no special sequencing that could be out of shape. The arm lift needs to be adjusted properly though, so that there isn't an unnecessary large clearance to take up before the arm starts to rise. The service manuals currently on site for silver & gold members are

  • Re: Thread removed?

The posting guidelines seem to have been left behind in the acrhived forum, but they still hold. If you stick to them and don't flood us completely (remember, this is for private sellers...), then that is exactly what your non-bronze membership is for! But in particular, the Beoworld marketplace is not allowed to be used as a showcase for external listings on eBay or where ever.

  • Re: Thread removed?

We used to get endless complaints from silver & gold members about inappropriately placed ads by bronze members. Which is fine, because many of them have upgraded and paid money for the single reason of being able to post in the correct subforums. Leslie, if you want to sell stuff, why don't you make your own "for sale" threads? Anyone can read them and reply by PM or email.

  • Re: Beolab 8000's

Pre outs can be connected directly to the LINE input on Beolab 8000s - provided the outputs are volume controlled (as opposed to blasting at full level all the time). From my quick googling, that seems to be the case and the combination should work nicely. Confirm this with your manual, though!

  • Re: Beosystem 2300 no sound/but works with headphones

I don't think Beolab 2500s need/use the signal on pin 8 for anything, so that shouldn't be a problem... but if the cable only has 7 pins, it's not any official Powerlink cable and could be connected which ever way, thus not doing the job. But, in this context "self powered" doesn't mean the speakers will work without power Do you have them connected to mains?

  • Re: BC 9500 + RL60.2 + BEOVOX PENTAS setup

As Graham said the BC9500 isn't really up to driving two pairs of largish passive speakers at the same time at big volume. The no. 1 & 2 speaker ports are simply connected in parallel, so it won't make any difference how you connect them - the Beocenter will always struggle if you have them both playing. My advice is to choose a pair (the Pentas obviously ) and use them.

  • Re: Workbench tools

I have the scope (100 MHz analog dual trace, delayed trigger Tek) and frankly I have needed it very rarely for any B&O repairs. You'll need/want the Variac only if you intend to work with valve kit. I wouldn't give up my ESR meter for the world. I have this one which has the nice property that you can measure most caps in circuit, the test signal is low enough amplitude that it won't bias semiconductors. Somebody mentioned using a very simple signal injector "beeper" for
