  • Re: BeoLid: A new and improved dust lid for the Beogram 4000 series

I think re-producing the lid is a great idea (I would buy one). However, I somewhat doubt that you will find enough people that are willing to buy one, sadly. I repaired my lid as good as possible, but it just does not look as good as a new one, and it is not a nice patina either. I asked various companies what reproducing the lid would cost, and the price was definitively higher than 200 dollar. I think building one yourself is an option, but getting the correct smoked acrylic and having it laser

  • Re: Is the BL6002 worth paying more for over BL6000?

I have had a pair of 6002, but I unfortunately sold them. Then it comes to sound the Beolab 6002 can not be compared to the 6000, they are much much better. I also had 6000 at the time and did a comparison, and I was surprised by the huge difference. I was most surprised by the difference in weight, with the 6002 being noticeably lighter. If I find another pair for a reasonable price I will definitely buy them!

  • Beolab 8000 Stays Green, plays normally

My Beolab 8000 have a strange fault. If I plug the speaker into the mains, the LED stays red. Now if I change the switch from left to right or to line (with nothing plugged in), the LED turns green. They play normally, but they do not turn off. I tried bridging C83, which turns the speakers off. I suspect there is domestiziert wrong with the Autostart circuit. Any ideas?

  • Re: Beolab 8000 Foam - is it worth it to invest in new OEM parts?

This is my result. I think I got pretty close to the OEM foam.

  • Re: Beolab 8000 Foam - is it worth it to invest in new OEM parts?

I just checked out some pictures of the foam. I figure it effectively creates a space in the collum from the bottom woofer up to the start of the bass reflex tube (sealing around the bass reflex tube). This should be easy to reproduce.

  • Beolab 8000 Foam - is it worth it to invest in new OEM parts?

I recently repaired my Beolab 8000 and took the rotten foam out in the process. Do you think it is worth it to buy new OEM foam or is simply stuffing some aftermarket acoustic foam in the cabinet enough? What actually is the function of the foam ( I guess minimizing reflection from the cabinet)? Can there be too much foam in the enclosure? As always, thank you for your help!
