@MrRoast & Fnabdog Beautiful photos!
Thank you CB! btw, I noticed your logo; what’s this “Cloud Appreciation Society“? – Sounds a bit nebulous to me :-) Okay okay – crappy joke I admit – but it was quick !
Very stylish fnabdog. Is it a showroom? Love the contrast with the red Panton heart chair.
Hi Kromer, Thank you very much! No – not a showroom but part of my (obsessively minimal) home on the south coast in England. I’m delighted that you recognised the chair but then again, Verner Panton is a compatriot of yours 🇩🇰 Best regards – Alan

  • Mutli-Path interference and the Beomaster 8000

    From the BM 8000 user's guide regarding the M.PATH/SIGNAL meter and switch: - when you move the switch to M. PATH and the indication is less than that on SIGNAL, there's a good chance that your antenna is receiving reflected signals ("ghosts"). High buildings are a common source of reflected signals. So what is the meter measuring when the switch is pushed to M.PATH rather than SIGNAL ? I assumed it was measuring multi-path interference and that therefore, it should register less

  • Re: Replacement Lamps (bulbs) for BM1200 for example

    Wow Martin - that was astonishingly fast! I need 12 of those bulbs plus some others for units I have not yet taken apart. I wonder whether you might help with bulbs for these: - BM3400 all bulbs (x2) BM 2000 (Type 2801) all bulbs (x2) Thanks very much Alan

  • Replacement Lamps (bulbs) for BM1200 for example

    Hi there – just taking apart a BM 1200 amongst many other items in order to have the cabinets re-sprayed in a white lacquer.(RAL 9016 70% matt of course!) While doing this, I noticed how simple it was to remove the indicator bulbs for MW/LW/FM which I would like to replace. These seem to be labelled PH12/30. Does anyone know a supplier for these or a suitable replacement please? Many thanks – Alan
RL stands would make it so much more intriguing
Intriguing ? (sic) Precisely what, is the nature of this ' intrigue ' you think that speaker stands might add? If those speakers were on stands, do you perhaps suspect that we might all be stroking our metaphorical beards and wondering: - "Hmm....how intriguing - those speakers are somehow achieving a seemingly effortless state of mid-air suspension? Could this conceivably be due to those 'intriguing'

    Nice speakers I wonder whether the different woods have any noticeable effect on the sound? Did you re-spray the white finish? If so, do you happen to know the RAL colour.? We have always used RAL 9016 - Verkehrsweiß or Traffic/Signal White Alan PS - I love what you've done with the place - that distressed look is coming back isn't it ;-)

    Very nice setup Fidse. Another Danish company 'Artcoustic' make excellent speakers and IMHO, are the best compromise between visual and sound quality. Here's a pic from our London home - the speakers are the white panels - no woofer required believe me! Best, Alan

  • Beocord 8004 - Remove Cabinet/Panels

    Hi there, I need to remove the rosewood panels/cabinet to effect repairs to the wood itself. Anyone have any tips as to the best way to do this.? Removing the panels from the BM8000 was simplicity itself as they are on clips whereas the Beocord appears to have a one-piece cabinet with much of the electronics attached. Many thanks, Alan
