• Re: BS Shape in stereo - how many speakers are used?
This therefore means that it's not only that the woofers are all collaborating on playing the low-frequency bands. So, in "stereo" mode, there's more going on than just a simple 2.1 setup with lots of woofers taking care of the .1 signal. [T]his much would be easy to verify if you're standing close to a Shape by listening closely to each tile in the system.
Well, I responded to this last night, but my post was eaten. Thank, Geoff

  • BS Shape in stereo - how many speakers are used?

Is this the behavior of a BeoSound Shape? When put in *stereo mode* by the app, does the Shape: a) route left channel signal to the single left-most speaker in the Shape config, while b) routing right channel signal to the single right-most speaker in the config? If that’s true, then there’s no good reason (while in stereo mode) to have more than 2 speakers in a configuration. All others speakers are unused in stereo mode. UNLESS: c) low frequencies (‘bass’) are routed to all remaining speakers?

  • BL 8000 - How to clean?

BL 8000 stopped working: sometimes won’t power up, sometimes powers up (green light) but won’t sound. Emboldened by many posts here, and by finding a series of YT videos on disassembling the BL 8K, I’ve now taken apart and found - no surprise - a bunch of sticky goo that used to be foam. I’m not sure what to do next. I can clean the main tube (I think). How do I clean up the wires & connectors & PCB? Is it best practice to wipe gently with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton

  • Re: What are best b&o computer monitor speakers?

I’m using a stereo pair of Beoplay S3. They can be paired via BT or the app. While not without small annoyances, the sound is very nice indeed. Far more powerful than needed in my office. I bought a few years ago for ~ $120 U.S. for each (they were being dumped on the market at the time).

  • Re: Beolab 28

Regarding the boomy bass that folks are hearing on their 28s...is it still problematic after you run room correction? Henrik has two videos, and while it's YT quality audio, the difference is still night and day. Is that what others are experiencing? BL 28 w/out calibration BL 28 with calibration

  • Re: Core v. Mozart
Halo works fine with Core. Am listening to music right now from Core and controlling with a Halo. It also works great with the BR1
Thx, Razlaw. That’s not reflected on the web page (only Essence remote is listed), so it’s good to hear from the horse’s mouth.

  • Core v. Mozart

I've reviewed the Tech Specs that B&O provides for both the Beosound Core and the BL 28 , which as I write is the most recent instantiation of the Mozart sound technology platform. While there are some differences, they are striking similar. It's almost as though B&O strapped a Core onto each BL 28. My question. The Core is advertised on the web site as " future-proof ", yet we all have heard that the Mozart platform where future development will occur. So which is it? Note

  • BL 28 - Excellent 'Tech Info' Guide

FYI. This is a quick recommendation for the BL 28 Technical Information Guide . Almost certainly written by Geoff Martin, it is at pains to make available to the layman (me) such topics as beam width control, ARC, ABL, room acoustics and speaker placement. Much of the discussion is applicable beyond the BL 28.
