• Re: Beolink 5000 E-Ink screen repair / mod

Bonjour Pilatomic, Congratulation on your mod. Yes there is a lot of BL5000 with faulty display including mine, I gave up trying to fit when I discovered the ribbon was just broken. How difficult would you consider modding the remote and is the cost worth the operation? Thanks and Bravo again.
Hi. May I know how much was the replacement kit for your Beosound? Thanks
Hi, I swapped keyboards from two units so I didnt bought the kit. Just cut the plastic rivets as told and replace them with small screws.

  • Beosystem 5000 (almost) completed…

Hi Alls, After many fishing parties across many seas I managed to gather an hybrid Beosystem 5000: - Beocord 5000 and Beogram CD50 both with the usual need of care and now working. - Beogram 5500 that needed the usual string pin replacement repair. - Beomaster 5500 and MCP5500, both working well. I got alongside two Beomaster 5000, both faulty with respective MCP. The system was working for month now and even if this is not my preferred design I have to say it suited my needs very well (multiple

  • Re: Beomaster 5000 Capacitor kit and restoration
Hi, I got my Beosystem 5000 working back in 2015. Here is the post of that project. It included recapping the Beomaster 5000. Later I restored a Beosystem 5500 which I have ended up using more.
Hi Sonavor, May I ask why you ended up using the 5500 more over the 5000? I've read somewhere that the 5000 sound better than the 5500 which is kind of Japanese average hifi, unless you chop-chop parts from him. I'm asking because I have a 5000 system running

  • The usual C/CX foam vs rubber question…

Hi alls, You may find my title a little bit ironic, no offense intended: I know they are many threads on the topic but I've honestly not found a clear answer, not to mention most threads are olds. I'm in the process of refoaming a pair of C30 speakers. So after looking around for surrounds It seems that two brands raise interest from beoworlders: Goodhifi and Audiofriends. There is an old thread on the Archived Forum where good hifi is pointed as being better, up to the point of the guy from

  • Re: The usual C/CX foam vs rubber question…

Thank you Martin, will do with foam then. Any supplier you would recommend, between those two or others?
The C surrounds look a little like rubber, but are in fact a kind of coated foam. They tend to last longer than foam, - but not forever.
When decomposing they do look like foam again!

  • Re: IR Data Code, User Code and Beo5/6
If you have the pronto codes for each of your buttons then translation is fairly easy. Post a few of your captured pronto codes and I will convert them into a simple xml file for you to try.
Good morning Keith and thank you for your support. I don't have pronto codes: I drop the idea of buying a pronto capture device some time ago when I figured out I still would need a "translator". The idea behind this whole search is to be independent

  • Re: Beomaster 901 2 speakers vs. 4 speakers.

Thanks Martin, Out of curiosity: I've always thought you can't go too much below a given impedance for an amplifier. Usually 8 or 4 ohms. If I remember well, 2x4 ohms in parallel should give 2 ohms. Is this because old amplifiers have more "tolerance" than recent ones or is it related to my comment on not listening loud?
