  • BeoCenter 7000 turntable cover hinge, plus a dumber question

Things are moving right along with the BeoCenter 7000 t1803 that I acquired recently. Martin has the tapedeck belts on the way and I got the tonearm adjusted so that it drops confidently into the start zone, no longer falling off the record half the time. Poking around here, I saw numerous questions about the aluminum door over the control panel but no one asked about the plastic cover over the turntable. The cover on mine opens nicely but won't stay up. Hold it or drop it. I presume I'm

After posting the previous, I began to feel that it might sound pretty dumb to have access to a belt for types 1801, 1802 and 1804 and not catch on that they'd fit my type 1803. On the other hand, I don't want to spend fifteen bucks, wait eight or ten days with the unit opened up on my workbench, only to find out that B&O put a different cassette player in the US version for the same reason they didn't give us an AM/FM radio. Another note - I cleaned up the smeared deteriorated belt

  • Beocenter 7000 type 1803 belt needed

I have a Beocenter 7000 - I presume it is a type 1803 since I'm in the U.S. (There is no type label apparent either in or outside; radio is FM only so I assume it's not a type 1801.) The question: where can I locate a replacement cassette belt? I can find belts for type 1801, 2 and 4, but no 1803. I'll guess they're all the same, but I want to be sure. The amusing effect of heat within the BC7000: the old belt has deteriorated to the point that it melts when touched. Quite a mess

  • Beomaster 6000 4-ch. & Beogram 6000 in white - want to swap WOOD ONLY for rosewood

I haven't figured out how to delete my previous message - the headline isn't clear. I only want to swap the plinths. I have two nice units that I want to keep. But they're both white, which doesn't look right in my living room. I've been told many times that the white is very popular. I'm in the U.S., where white is not as popular. Regardless, my living room has a large built-in cabinet in a wall of red mahogany. The white really clashes. Swapping the plinth is a simple procedure

  • Beomaster 6000 4-ch. - anyone have a photo of the "kickstand"?

My type 2702 is slowly but Shirley being readied for use. Now, here's a non-electronic question: The living room installation requires that the Beomaster 6000 be mounted a bit high in the cabinetry so I think I will want to tilt the unit forward a bit for better visibility. I think the t2702 left the factory with some sort of wire (metal rod) that is used for just such a purpose. Sadly, my unit doesn't have it. All that's left on the underside is three screws and bits of plastic - parts

  • Re: Good resellers within a few hudred miles of Philadelphia?

If you want to save a fair amount of $$$ on household appliances (range, washer, etc.) stores like Lowe's and Home Depot often put out some "floor models" (used as displays) when they need floor space for the newer models. I like to ask an employee where they keep the "scratch and dent" stuff. Toward the back of their appliance department they'll keep units that got, you guessed it....scratched or dented. I've had good luck finding "last year's model"

  • Beomaster 6000 4-ch. & Beogram 6000 in WHITE - want to swap for ROSEWOOD

I have a Beomaster 6000 4-ch. & Beogram 6000 both in WHITE. It just doesn't work with my living room. I do NOT want to trade the BM6000 and BG6000 units, just the wood trim. I'll be happy to send photos, as desired. You can email me at jack@jackstuff.com

  • Re: I got lucky with my newly-acquired BM6000 4 ch., except........

UPDATE - or more like a RE-BOOT ----------------- I have done almost nothing with the BM6000 since this conversation began. I had a bunch of other projects that I needed to take care of before I'd be able to give the 6000 my undivided attention. The 4-channel monster is a bit daunting for a would-be electronic whiz, so I decided to wait until my dance card was empty. That took almost up to New Years Eve. I would've been able to start around Haloween except that I discovered a 1960 toy player

Christian - I'm in the U.S. - I don't know the word "palisander", so please forgive me if I'm not answering your post properly. I have a Beomaster 6000 type 2702 in "white" and I'd like to swap the wood piece with a comparable walnut piece. I'm in the middle of "restoring" the 2702 so I don't want to sell or swap the unit - only the 3-sided wood trim. I also have a Beogram 6000 in white and I'd like to swap the plynthe for one in walnut. I

Ryan - I owe you a Blue! The company store website has full information regarding their service department. I called and a nice lady said that they do indeed service the BM6000 quad. Very nice, considering I'm only a three-hour drive up the QEW, etc. Beats packing and shipping and hoping (a Dusty Springfield hit?). I'm reasonably familiar with downtown Toronto since we're Buffaloons. Now I just want to wait for a good day for the drive up, then I'm gone a few weeks on vacation out
