  • Re: Cartridge Suspension repairer

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your question I have seen a few people on forums that think stylus wear does not exist, If only that were the case, wear is definitely an issue, the reason diamond is used is because it is so hard, although as you said diamond is much harder than vinyl and with relatively low tracking weights I can understand why people might think that but the amount of the distance the stylus travels is extremely long for every LP, the distortion from flats if more gradual and subtle than suspension

  • Re: Beogram 5005 tonearm moving too fast

Hi Peter, By playing too fast do you mean the stylus skids across the record? as in that case it might just be the cartridge The motor only runs so the tonearm is straight if the cartridge is faulty it can skate right across the record and the turntable might be fine if you have another known good cartridge try that If you want your cartridge checked/repaired take a look over here http://www.audio-origin.co.uk/retipping-stylus.html Best regards Alistair

  • Re: Is thisMMC cartridge beyond repair?

Yes as long as the coils are ok it can be refurbished, also there are plenty of spare end parts in stock so that can be replaced at the same time, current average turnaround 2 weeks http://www.audio-origin.co.uk/retipping-stylus.html Alistair
