• Re: Beolab 20 unleashes full armageddon!

I am still nervous at times
If it's able to make an elephant nervous, imagine for a cat...
haha, Ok, thanks for the quick responses. That makes me feel better. Oddly, I'm so curious about this Armageddon noise... and its curiosity that killed the cat.

  • Re: Beolab 20 unleashes full armageddon!

Have any more people experienced this? I have a cat with a very strange habit of sleeping in random places, least of which is right tucked by speakers. He likes to go find himself snug against things, and lately he has taken to the various speakers. I just added a pair of second hand Beolab 20s into the mix, and after reading this thread when I was researching the BL20s, Im terrified of this happening. Lack of acknowledgment from B&O, in addition to what looks like this happening to both wired

  • Re: Beolab 90 - interested in purchase, questions and any owners here...
........my speakers are $22,000, the amp is a Boulder which is 50,000. The wires are 40,000. The source is 30,000. The preamp is 8,000......
Looks like your wires cost twice as much as your speakers. All B&O uses are either DIN or internet cables, oh, sorry, SHIELDED internet cables

  • Re: CD Not Playing on Beosound 9000

I have read A LOT of threads about the Beosound 9000 MKII and MKIII repair, but there is very little information on the MKI CD repair... or at least the answer is convoluted or unclear. Which part would I be looking for to replace on a MKI Beosound 9000? The VAM 1250, or the CDM 12.6? Or has there been a solution to the MKI repair? I just picked up a used MKI which is mulfuntioning a little.

  • Re: Sound profile - a perspective on comparing Beolab 9 with Beolab 20

Just wanted to see how your new Beolab 20s are coming along after having them for a few weeks now. I attained a pair myself, and am awaiting them to arrive, it will be a few weeks shipping. Im looking forward to trying them out side by side with my Beolab 9s as you did. Ill add my 2 pence to this thread... perhaps we will have very similar discoveries. Just wanted to know how you have settled in with your new speakers, and if you decided to keep the Beolab 9s as part of your setup, perhaps as surrounds

  • Re: BeoLab 1 moving from Sweden to USA: 240v to 110v

There are lots of step up transformers available on Amazon. Get one with double the maximum wattage the speaker needs. This way, you are far above and beyond any wattage spikes you may encounter, but your transformer will also run cold to the touch. I am running a set of Beolab 8000 with 500w transformers for each speaker. The transformers come with a power switch, but you can leave them on permanently.

  • Beolab 3 & AV Receiver

You can get RCA cables made with a standby/power trigger. This will plug I go to the 12v trigger plug. Contact Steve for cables (you can see his ad at the bottom of the page). I’m running Beolab 9s, Beolab 8000s, Beolab 3s, Beolab 2s all from a Yamaha. As someone mentioned, they all connect through preouts.

Steve, does this mean the speakers would not be stereo?

  • Sound profile - a perspective on comparing Beolab 9 with Beolab 20

I found the Beolab 9s to be very strident and shrill on the top end when I started using them. I have since paid very close attention to sharp, piercing sounds when I go watch my daughter’s orchestra. Indeed, in real life, the percussion group are very strident, particularly cymbals of course. Live bands really get the ears ringing with the cymbals. Giving particular attention to these sounds, I have started to find that my other speakers sound very unrealistic reproducing those types of instruments

  • BeoPlay launches brand new AW18 collection and it's their best yet

Photography is beautiful, art direction is atrocious. Have they gone mad? Music is suppose to bring joy, inspiration, happiness, or simply some enrichment. I don’t understand what would possess someone to think models acting like they are depressed, grieving or are being held prisoners is a bright spark of an idea. I suppose music can help one endure those circumstances. We all know high end has “attitude”, but this is too much ether dust getting in the way of common sense. Add to that, instruction
