• Re: Flash your B&O - new thread!

Hi Beoworlders, new beovirus victim here ;-) Anyway, on the table tonight is my bm 900s. The 900k is for the kitchen, had a bit of noise on 1 channel, so I'm testing if one of my spares is better. I just picked up the naked one and the bg 1000 from service today after waiting for 2 months. Very excited to get them back in the RG Compact case :-) The best looking stand-alone system ever made? It is in my opinion. Fitted with an Essence mk2 for streaming and future multiroom integration. Meanwhile

What is the story behind the cabinet above the home made piece? Jeff P.S. You are very welcome!
Do you mean the small rotating cassette tape holder? Good question Ralf, I haven't seen the light in the Moment yet either... Except that very lovely touch sensitive veneer, which I really hope they can find use for in some other products. And the nice mix of warm and cold materials, all well crafted. And the mood wheel, silly or clever? Definitely different. In my opinion very B&O. Not something to buy because it's sensible but because you enjoy the details and the quirks. Comming to think of it, maybe I should get one...

Very true! and yes, that can come back any time without warning But I had a great evening, and I actually left the living room more less like that the whole weekend. Going to and fro. First, the 4702's need new woofer surrounds so they were packed away quickly. But the 5000's were very good indeed especially with the cubes. I actually enjoyed listening to them as much as the penta's. To my ears the Penta's have a better definition but not the same depth as the 5000's, not surprising

  • First test of new toys

It's Friday night and I finally have some time to myself. I picked up my Classic Audio BL/BM5000 on monday and it has been waiting patiently on a shelf since. It is of course in perfect condition, and I have been reading the manuals thoroughly, building up my expectations. But when it rains, it pours! So since monday I have also acquired a set of beovox 5000 with cubes and just today I almost stumbled upon a MINT looking, one owner, beomaster 4400 with the set of beovox 4702 it was originally

  • Re: Datalink and Multiroom

Anyway, back on topic. I stopped by my dealer on friday an picked up an ml/ml converter and set to work with my BS6500. My dealer gave this. Beonuts, is he trying to tell me something? And in connecting everything. I had to ad a wifi extender with an ethernet port to get the BLC on network link. It is not difficult to get everything connected and started up. One thing though, in my setup it works better if the 1611 (sw 1.3) is powered on at the same time as everything else. This isn't a plug
As for the speakers: The golden BL4000s were carefully selected to stand out. I think they work well today in that colour and it definitely sets them apart that they are not the usual black or silver. And the finish is a very clear golden metal; like freshly polished brass it changes very much with the light. Together with chrome, wood and a combination of modern and antique furniture (and coloured walls) they are bound to play a part and add some drama! 🎺 I will

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen in the garden?

I rather doubt that any B&O equipment will last very long if left outside all year round in a scandinavian climate, even if it is under roof. But a year or two shouldn't be a big problem. Or Mayer more... I would go for the simplest possible solution. Beolink passive may be cheaper in the long run.

  • Re: Your latest addi(c)tion?

Here is another little accessory for my BS6500 that arrived in the mail earlier today. After having been back and forth with the previous owner for some time, we found a price that suited the both of us. And yes it's 'just' a white Beolink 1000. But the white finish appears to be orignal from the factory. The look and feel of it is very similar to the grey version and notice the black letters. He had got hold of the white top and battery cover and fitted them to a normal mk2. I haven't

Yes I do approve of it, quite a lot actually. It's very good fun to find just the right accessories, that are typical of the time and originally offered with the system. That goes for any system really. There's nothing better than finding just that thing you've been looking for Practicality is not always important. And apart from testing it with another tuner I have absolutely no idea how to check whether it is in good working order or not. I tend spend way too much energy getting things
