• Re: Beoplay firmware

Hi! Does the BeoTool app (should be on iOS and Android) show the playmaker as being up to date or does it say there’s newer firmware available? I’m not sure what the latest version for the playmaker is but BeoTool should show you :)

  • Re: Wireless earphones with ANC?

For what it's worth, I've found the E8 (and H5 for that matter) with the foam Comply ear tips to be better at noise cancelling than a lot of ANC headphones I've tried.

  • Re: New / Update H8i and H9i

My H9is arrived today and I think it’s safe to say B&O nailed it with these. They sound brilliant (even better than the H9s, which to me sounded better than all of the competition in their class), the new ANC is brilliant and it’s about time they managed to make ANC that’s as good as the competition (I think it’s pretty close to Sony + Bose now and just like the H9, it still doesn’t have too big of an impact on the sound quality). On the note of good sound, I’m

  • Re: Beoplay E8 transparency weak on right bud
Hi Jon, Just tried that process - it completed ok (had to pair again) but still minimal transparency on the right bud. I didn't think it would bother me but quite disorientating when moving about!
oh no :( yeah it's quite disconcerting! If I were you I'd either take them back to the shop you bought them from for a replacement or send them off to B&O under warranty

  • Re: Beoplay E8 transparency weak on right bud

Oh I should have said, i had issues with volume in general being quiet on the right earphone (which included transparency mode) so a factory reset /might/ not work (hopefully it will though!)

  • Re: Beoplay E8 transparency weak on right bud

Yeah it’s a known problem I think - both pairs I’ve had have had the problem. It is easily fixed though, all you need to do is perform a factory reset (touch the touch panel on both earbuds at the same time until the light on the right earphone goes red, and then put them back in the charging case and leave them for a few second. Then re-pair them with your phone). Given that a factory reset of the software fixes it, hopefully they’ll work out what the problem is a patch it in a future software update

  • Re: BM5 HDD to SSD the easy way
Thank you for your hints. Maybe a dumb question, but what happens when I clone a 500GB HDD to a 1TB SSD? Will I lose the remaining 500GB because of an exact 1:1 cloning?
Typically with drive clones, when you use a larger destination disk the cloning software will just create a partition on the drive that's the exact same size as the old one. I can't remember if Windows XP (which it looks like the BM5 runs on) supports re-sizing partitions (and even then

  • Re: Force firmware update on BeoPlay A6
FYI. I'm on the latest A6 fw 1.15.17640. I have unstable WiFi only with the A6. I've stopped using it - awaiting the much talked about update.
Oh no :( my previous one worked fine network wise (had a few drop-outs but not too many) - the biggest reason for wanting to update though instead of waiting was that I couldn't get TuneIn working on 1.3 - I tried manually logging in via the web interface and it kept saying "Login Failed" (the

  • Re: Force firmware update on BeoPlay A6

I've fixed it! It just crossed my mind that I'd enabled DNS Security (checks for DNSSEC records and drops requests that can't be verified) on my DrayTek router a couple of days ago - just disabled it and re-launched the B&O app and it found the update.
See the discussion in this thread forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/28296.aspx?PageIndex=1 If I were you I'd wait until the new A6 firmware is out!
Haha yeah I've been looking on that - this is my second A6 (first had lots of DSP errors and reboots), but this one keeps dropping out and the B&O app keeps saying it's unreachable and the old one never had that problem so I was hoping an update would at least fix the wifi problems.
