• Remarkable collection for sale

Estimated at 1 million Danish kroner (€ 130.000) here’s a chance of getting hold of a remarkable collection of B&O products in full working order with wonderful and some very rare items spanning 80 years from 1925 to 2005: https://www.lauritz.com/da/auktion/bang-olufsen-danskejet-museum-produkter-fra-perioden-192/i5843143/ I hope it is not a liquidation of Bang & Olufsen’s own collections. Does anybody know of a similar privately owned collection?

  • Re: Beoplay M5 - no light in LEDs and volume indicator
Lower dots should of course illuminate. Have you tried all the "generic help-desk solutions" such as unplugging and reseating the power cord at BOTH ends?
Yes. Gone through all the motions. The unit is from 2018. To be honest, the dots used to annoy me because they were so visibly bluish white. But...
Never seen any lights in the top plate.... are you sure?
I am sure that the two LEDs in the bottom are not lighting up. The M5 has sat idle for a while. It is black and perhaps a nearby lamp has made me believe that the dots on the top disc used to light up, but perhaps thy never did

  • Beoplay M5 - no light in LEDs and volume indicator

Hi all, Has anyone experienced an M5 losing light in all diodes (the two indicators on the bottom and the perforated volume lights in the aluminium disc on top)? Everything else seems to work. Kind regards, StKong

  • Best way to further reduce bass on M5

In addition to Trackbeo’s good response, I want to add that you should experiment with a folded piece of cloth like a kitchen towel under your M5. If it does the trick, buy some foam padding material and cut it to shape. When placed under the M5 it is nearly invisible elevating the speaker ever so slightly and might be the simplest solution. Obviously several factors are at play, but I find it is mostly down to weight and stabilisation. From personal experience, the M5 can be tricky to deal with

  • beosound 35
Does anybody know, when using the statement „http://192.168.2.xx:8080/BeoNotify/Notifications“, why the Beosound Core shows the meta-data information of the currently playing Airplay Stream and the Beosound 35 does not? Beosound Core shows: {"notification":{"timestamp":"2020-10-03T15:33:42.808022","type":"NOW_PLAYING_STORED_MUSIC","kind":"playing","data":{ "name":"Hello"

  • Beosound Core Blimey!
I have a core too and was also surprised of its sound quality. But as Michael said above, it seems based on the essence. I found that the core web interface in some places mistakenly even calls itself essence. I’ve been curious about what chips is inside but haven’t found any teardowns or internal photos. I can try take mine apart and take some photos if nobody else already have photos of it.
I believe the Essence is based on a Texas Instruments chipset.

  • Beogram 4000c - Recreated Limited Edition
Costwise.. I wonder how much margine they make on a set of 10.000€. Taking in account the manhours for searching for the units, the design of the cabinet, design of wood for the unit, totally restoring/resolding/marketing/.. I have a slight feeling that they're not going to make much profit even if the sets are 10.000€
My thoughts exactly. And that counts for the limited blue colour version of the Beosound 1 as well. The marketing costs
Could we take a guess at which one of their back catalogue units they will be "recreating" one hundred of in five years? Perhaps Beomaster 4400 (and call it Beomaster 3000c and give it a rose-pink tint)?
😃

Henrik has already got a hold of iit https://youtu.be/ecdn_otUbzc Looks the business. I worry about the missed opportunity of adding modern connectivity. Seems the company continues on a path that could’ve been better aligned.
