• Re: question wifi setting beosound1 and beoplay m3
So what you're suggesting is that it's not really the roaming part that is beneficial, but the fact that the B&O product stays connected to Wi-Fi even while in standby mode? This would make sense (assuming that without this feature enabled, it always needs to re-attach when it wakes up - not sure this has been 100% confirmed though...)
Mine don’t seem to disconnec from WiFi during standbyt, but one unit can get stuck on a more distant access point

  • Re: Side by side comparison BS1 GVA, A6, M3, M5
Thanks M5 is more bass capable I would say, but can be a bit overwhelming dependent on placement and setting. BS1 still have nice bass though.
I have two BS1 that I love. Especially for the design. My M5, however, has become utterly brilliant after the updates. I currently think it is the best offering in The B&O lineup when considering the price/quality ratio.

This is good news for apartments in areas with Wi-Fi congestion, I gather.

  • Re: M5 sound suddenly appears less boomy
I confirm it is less boomy after the upgrade, nicer sound now! But why did they change the upper disc click sound for a so loud one ???
I think it has to do with equalisation. The click is now both louder and brighter, but that counts for treble and mid range overall. I think they gave a substantial part of the higher frequency range a significant notch upwards to match the bass.
agree. I’ve noticed it a couple of days ago - just after I’ve installed the latest beta version (3.11...) of the Bang and Olufsen app. The sound is more precise/less boomy, and the volume change ticking has changed too. Let’s hope it stays that way .
Sounds like a proper Beosound now. Glad I’m not the only one to notice!

  • M5 sound suddenly appears less boomy

Am I the only one to experience a less boomy M5 sound image? It seems like it has become much rounder, and far closer to the traditional B&O signature sound. I discovered it completely by chance while listening to radio: treble and midrange are much better balanced. I have had a difficult relationship with my M5 as I haven't quite found its sound profile to my liking. Without fiddling or changing anything, it now sounds close to my Beolab 12-3s, 17s and 4000s. I would even compare it to the

  • B&O “Moment Collection” (A1, A9, BS1 & E8) Year of the Ox...

I love the color of the BS1, but somehow it doesn't quite look anodized, rather it looks painted. Probably due to the photo. Nice that B&O embraces colours. I hope we will see many more, and I also hope that they will keep true to the unique form factor of BS1 & BS2. And running off on a tangent, I love the M3, but the design is far from premium and looks to me much like any other speaker. What I would really love is an M3-like unit clad in aluminium. It could potentially be a revived

Happy New Year, Kiran! Glad to hear about the progress. How is the balance these days in terms of NL vs. ML?

  • Remarkable collection for sale

Estimated at 1 million Danish kroner (€ 130.000) here’s a chance of getting hold of a remarkable collection of B&O products in full working order with wonderful and some very rare items spanning 80 years from 1925 to 2005: https://www.lauritz.com/da/auktion/bang-olufsen-danskejet-museum-produkter-fra-perioden-192/i5843143/ I hope it is not a liquidation of Bang & Olufsen’s own collections. Does anybody know of a similar privately owned collection?
