  • Beoremote One + BL5

Hi, I just got a weird feedback from B&O support team...it looks like you can turn your BL5 on/off, adjust volume, adjust balance and even set Option to 0, 1 and 4 using Beoremote One BUT you can't set the line input level! That can only be performed using Beo4... Does anyone know if this is true? For me this seems to be impossible! B&O would never be this stupid, right???

  • Re: Replacing a Beolab 10 with Beovision 11?

My TV is a 55" plasma Panasonic which is almost 10 years old, so, the replacement would be the BV11 55" version. If the BV11 sound performance were not as good as the BL10, then I would try to get a Beosystem 4, keep the BL10 and look for another TV (or even a projector...)

  • Replacing a Beolab 10 with Beovision 11?

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my old TV to a Beovision 11. The problem is that I'm using a Beolab 10 as center channel on my setup. Does anybody know if by using all speakers of the BL11 as center channel will I be downgrading the audio capabilities of my setup? In other words, considering only the audio performance, as a centre channel, which one performs the best: BL10 or BV11? Cheers, Dante. PS: I don't know if it makes any difference, but consider a pair of BL5 as fronts.

  • Beolab 5 calibration mic position

Hi, My BL5 are placed in the middle of my living room (+/- 3.5 m apart from each other) and close to the wall behind them (+/- 0.5 m). My listening position (sweet spot) is +/- 2.5 m perpendicularly from the speakers. Even though the BL5 have a great off-axis horizontal dispersion, I've rotated them pointing to the sweet spot for aesthetics reasons... Now, the tricky part: does anyone know if I have to rotate the speakers, so that the calibration mic is perpendicular to the wall behind them,

Has anyone ever tried to run BL 5 with a Datasat RS20i? The specifications says: Signal Outputs Digital Audio Outputs •Channels: 16, fully routable as to input •Connectors: Two DB25 Male (Ch1-8 and Ch9-16) •Digital Format: AES/EBU •Sample Rates: 48kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz Is that compatible with the BL5 digital input?

  • Re: Beolab 5 setup

During the last weekend I decided to do a blind test on my BL5 with the help of my brother. I've downloaded some songs from B&W Society of Sound (free trial), FLAC 96 kHz, and played them using two methods: 1) Macbook Pro + BitPerfect --> Optical/Coax converter --> BL5 spdif in 2) Macbook Pro --> AppleTV --> Pioneer VSXD814 receiver preamp out --> BL5 line in The songs were: Full Moon in Paris | Wayfaring Stranger For my surprise I couldn't point out any difference between

  • Re: Beolab 5 and non-B&O pre-amp questions

    1) Yes, the volume can be controled by the preamp. You'll need a Beoremote to set the gain of the BL5. The signals can be analog line in or digital. Both will work fine. 2) There is another post in the forum discussing about sound quality of the internal DAC of the BL5. On my testing I couldn't identify any difference when listening via analog line in or digital, so, any of them will work fine.

  • Re: BL50

Are you connecting them to a Beosystem 3 or 4? Because you'll need a good preamp/processor with plenty bass adjustments, including a "LFE to Main Channel" option. Today you can adjust the bass directly in the BL2. Make sure you can do those adjustments and go for the BL5, otherwise you might get disappointed.

  • Digital Power Link

Hi there! I was just taking a closer look at BL50 specifications and saw a Digital Power Link there. As I couldn't find anything on Google, I'd like to ask the community: Does anyone knows what it is? Just a simple SPDIF via Power Link cable or anything special from B&O? Cheers, Dante. BTW, what about Wireless Power Link? Is it the same thing as Wisa?
