  • BS Moment - designing a hybrid digital/vinyl system

Hi everyone Would appreciate tapping into the the collective brains here to help be design an audio solution to complement & extend my Beovision 11 TV setup. These will co-exist in the same downstairs living space, but generally be used separately - ie. multiroom is interesting to me, but not essential. I have a HUGE investment (time, equipment and emotion!) in an iTunes ALAC uncompressed & increasingly Hi-rez library of digital music. This sits on a DAS Drobo into a Mac Mini and renders

Thanks Jeff. Again, i've got quite a lot invested in my turntable setup, and it's the one aspect i'm happy having a manual process to play. I'd like auto-sensing source changing if possible, but as explained, would live with an input switcher box between Vinyl & the Line-in from the mac Mini or DAC I guess the pertinent questions are: Can the BS Moment support speaker groups, so it's output can be directed to either wired power link (and onto a headphone amp) or via WISA to

Thanks mbolo01! Very, very helpful to know, though dissappointing. I wonder - is there a way of using headphones with the any B&O audio masters? Considering how many headphone models they sell for parables, it;s odd none of the Audio systems have headphone ports. Is there a 3rd party solution?

Boom! Millemissen - a really detailed and helpful answer - thank-you for taking the time to write that all down. I shall have to think carefully about how to approach this, as (not surprisingly) the TV & audio systems are not proximate to each other. Same room, but opposite ends, and hiding cables will be a challenge. Once again - to all who answered - thanks!

Thanks rxcohen That sounds like a lovely system you have there. McIntosh makes some lovely kit. I'm having a (lovely) dilemma. On the one hand i'd love to integrate my TV & Audio setups as described above, and enjoy the benefits. However physically this would require a great deal of upheaval to run the cables. I'd also worry about the noise pollution from the Mac Mini & NAS all moved to be proximate to the TV (it would have to hang of the back via a STB System 9 bracket) I might

  • Beosound Moment & ALAC Support

I'm considering adding a Beosound Moment to my setup. I have no other B&O audio systems at present. I have a large collection in iTunes, all in ALAC format, but at a variety of bit rates & sampling frequencies. The bulk of this is from my RIPS of CD's - so 16bit/44Khz - but a growing amount is from Hirez sources (HD Tracks) that i've transcoded to ALAC but retained the bit depth. The B&O spec for the Moment suggests ALAC is supported (it was;t originally right?) but describes

  • Re: Deezer subscription ended with the Moment/Essence

Totally agree ... a lossless preferred streaming partner is just table stakes now. Ideally we'd leapfrog and move to an MQA streaming provider. Whilst many of us have invested in a physical collection, which may well be ripped to lossless, an increasing share of B&O customers must be streaming purists, who will never appreciate the quality of the system the;ve bought due to poor source media. There's much to criticise about TIDAL's discovery modes, but you can't deny the basic

  • Re: Moment AUX input delay ?

Not quite the same use case, but I run a pre-amplified Phono source into my Moment and experience maybe 1 sec of lag. Now with no picture to align to, it's not an issue for me, but would for a TV source. Lag is a constant, never seems to change, and not as long as the other response here, of 4-5 secs

  • Re: BL18 connected to multiple devices?

Thanks Millemissen I do have a BV11 with WISA, and a Moment - but i've never setup speaker groups & audio sources before. Currently both run independently, though I have linked them using the MultiRoom feature of BeoMusic App (but mainly as an experiment. Forgive my newbie questions ... but do you mean 1. On the BV11 create an audio speaker group (L&R 18's + a common 19) - let's call it "Music" 2. On the BV11 create a TV speaker group (built-in BV speakers + the common

  • Re: BL18 connected to multiple devices?

So, you cannot have a set of WISA speakers that can intelligently share themselves between two WISA sources - like a Moment and a BV11? I'm actually asking because i'm interested in sharing a Beolab 19 Sub between these two sources. My room forces me to have a TV area, and an audio area, but both could do with a little oomph from a sub. Ideally I could share, as i'll never have both on simultaneously.
