• Re: Beovision Avant & HDR standard

Hoirt / Millemissen / Townsend Thank you very much for your responses. I have decided to wait until I get some more clarity on B&O's plans on the HDR introduction. It is too important an upgrade to miss on such an expensive television. Let's keep this discussion alive to share what we learn individually. Best

  • Beovision Avant & HDR standard

Folks Is the current Avant 85" compatible with the HDR standard which is being splashed around the CES. I am actively considering the 85" version but will wait until I get the confirmation that Avant panels / firmware / connections are HDR compatible. Sincerely appreciate guidance.

  • Re: Heard from B&o store.

Folks Seems like B&O has given up on developing / tweaking anything on the video side. (Light sensors / Automatic screen calibration (BV9), Video processors). It is a sad story as the panels are just one part of the story and the processing / features are equally important part. Now on the designing side, They just slapped a speaker under the LG OLED screen and skimped on doing any magic like Avant. I personally did not like speakers with overhangs outside the TV screen dimensions (like in BV7

Seems like with the new products, now it is other way around. Much more expensive launch prices in the US versus Europe. I was very anxiously waiting for the B&O OLED TV but after seeing the launch price of 65 inch at > $ 16,000, I am staying away for the time being.
I wonder, what do other members consider would be an appropriate and fair price for the new Eclipse (both sizes) and a motorised stand? Where do you see the TV in the current line up, at the top or under another? Curious...
After careful considerations, I think I would have been okay with 65 OLED @ close to $ 12,000 (Including stand) but it is coming in at $ 17,000 (Including Stand and fabric grill). At this price Sony 77 inch OLED seems like a better
I guess people are not conditioned, just very well informed in the Internet age. That's why it is impossible to charge some insane markup even to the ones who have plenty of money to spend. Not because they can't, but because it insults their intellect. I guess B&O still needs to accept that new reality.
Well said my friend. I am one of the B&O fan boys and have been with the brand for a long time. I was actually planning to go for Avant

If the Eclipse is based on the best LG oled panel, that panel itself would count for appr 60-70% of the total price of the Eclipse, or? The high end 65" LG oled panels aren't inexpensive....
Anyone who knows the details about these LG oled panels if there is any differences, because all tv reviews with this years pressent panel from LG tells that there are no differences between e.g. B7 or the E7 in picture quality

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

Frankly, the core discussion now is not "Who consulted who and to what extent". None of these "assumptions" will make the B&O OLED perform any better than SONY or LG or Loewe. These TVs are already darn good. The core question is "if the Eclipse 65 is worth $ 17,000" in the eyes of buyers. For some , it may still make all the sense and for many (including me), I am missing the magic in Eclipse and still paying for it. In my books, 65 Eclipse is seriously overpriced

Hi Sandyb, Not sure what the prices in Europe are but the prices in US for LG 65E7 is $ 2700. Please check out the following link where many sellers use the "Used as New" categorization just to get away from having to advertise the TV @ MSRP. It may be different in Europe but in the US LG65E7 has really dropped in price. BTW, Eclipse does not have full blown Beosystem as Avant or BV9 had. G7 is also way lower than the prices you have quoted. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01MZF7YUD
