• Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

Folks After seeing the real pictures of Eclipse (Apologies that I can not post the pictures under a gentleman's word), If I had access to Loewe TV in the USA, I would buy that in a heart beat and have the Oppo feeding the picture to the OLED panel and sound to my (soon to arrive) BL 50. Need no sound from the TV. Just to check if I can live with the LED TV (Avant), I went to B&O Dealer yesterday again and looked at the Avant. Design wise, Avant is still my most favorite TV but the LED panels

There is absolutely no difference in the picture quality in the LG panels, all the way from $ 2000 (LG B7 55 inch) to $ 14,000 (LG W77 inch) and between the brands. I suggest who are blindly believing in "Price = Quality" are making a mistake. All OLED panels behave the same as long as they come from same production lines. The only minor differences ( I am truly mean minor) will be driven by the Video processing that is being applied. For Sony OLEDS, they are using their X1 Xtreme processor

Design weakness is the constant feedback we are all expressing. Frankly, When I saw the real picture, I could not take my eyes off the big Soundbar distracting from the display which should be the star of the show. The issue on top is the value proposition from pricing point of view. If the design was as good as we all expected (at least the ones who have expressed their reservations on the design), I would not hesitate to pay the asking price but now I have to balance the Design weakness (IMHO)

Totally agree with your assessment. I would even say that even Z9 will be lower preference for me versus the OLED. Edge Lit LCD TV are really no choice when compared to OLED and even full back lit (Z9 / Avant 85) are really not my preference. I find LED TVs to be too bright and nothing will make me buy one. I am still living with my 1080P Plasma (BV9) and despite many temptations to get 4K TV, I stayed away until HDR became a more common feature. Until I had seen the OLED, I was okay with LED 4K
Just imagine, a Beosystem with all of B&O's sound processing capabilities, video processing capabilities, and jam in Beolink Gateway functionality, for an all in one small-box solution for your home or apartment? Come on. Who wouldn't buy that? Bring your own screen and speakers, and smart home devices.
Could not agree more. I will not hesitate to buy the "Beosystem5" in a heartbeat and add the Sony display.

Folks Story gets even more crazy in the US. LG E7 65 is $ 3995 only in the US and if you do not mind picking up an open box from the Sony Authorised dealer (absolutely unused TV), it crashed down to $ 2800 only. Hence the price differential becomes even more of an issue here in the US.

I can imagine that the design of the soundbar is a little surprising, but I'm very confident that it is going to be a success. Just go back to the first impressions and comments on the A9. In the beginning almost nobody had some positive comments on the A9 design. Sometimes it takes time to get used to it.
Exactly - let us revisit this thread in two years time to see, what people here thought back then about the BV

Design is not the core issue but the value proposition is. I have yet to question the value proposition on a B&O product before Eclipse (At least the products that I bought, BL 50, BV9, BL5, A9 Beosound 5, etc. etc.). I do not think it is just the 'Design" that is under criticism but the "Value Proposition" which is being challenged. Give me Eclipse 65 with floor stand at $ 10,000, I will take it in a heartbeat

  • Re: The new BeoVision Eclipse : POLL - Have your vote!

I suppose only those, who have experienced the BV Eclipse liv, are allowed to vote, or?
What is it with B&O 'fans' who insist the entire view will change when you see something? That's never happened to me. I've never changed any judgement based on seeing something in person. I've seen OLED screens - I know what they deliver. It's a struggle to get your head around this, but I've heard the

Folks, , 2 questions , one hypothetical and one real . 1. If the eclipse was a Sony product , how much premium we would be willing to pay over the standard Sony A1E? 2. For those who are liking the Eclipse , how much of you positive feelings are driven by the B&O multi room / multinproduct integration versus if you were to use Eclipse as a Stand alone product in one location with no other consideration .?
