  • "Looks good, can't check"

I read another thread and a beoworlder commented on the fact that even broken B&O carts are fetching high prices. It certainly looks that way on Ebay and the line that sellers are unable to check the item with a couple of pics taken from several feet away doesn't seem to deter bidders. It's either broken or it ain't but this middle road seems to be the the most profitable way to go for sellers.

  • Re: Beogram 1902 Repair in London, UK

Googling around for something B&O related, I came across this site. It's a hifi repair shop in London and lists B&O as products they handle. I make no claims as to how reputable they are, but , it's worth an estimate if you're intent on getting your 1902 fixed.

Ha, I was a bit slow with that one. Good point, replacing the records would certainly be cheaper than doing anything with the cartridge. I suppose I was putting two questions together, one seeing how many of you use clamps on your beograms and the other addressing my niggling curiosity over the suspension in my cart. Chartz, I've recently started getting more new records as opposed to used since more and more are becoming available in the soul genre. The particular record in question was Leroy

Yes, I wouldn't want to use one of the ones that relies on weight to flatten a record. The Michel is a nice clamp, you basically place a piece of felt on the spindle then the record and then gently screw down the clamp. I tried it on the Beogram 8000 but of course the ribs don't allow the clamp to get a purchase on a flat surface. I tried raising the felt with a piece of cut magic eraser but it just doesn't grip it, no biggie. Does Axel in Germany repair suspension or would I have to

  • Re: Flash your B&O - new thread!

Here's my first foray into B&O: A Beogram 8000 with MMC20CL and a Beomaster 6000 with terminal remote. On the wall, a pair of Beovox 3000 speakers. The Beogram has been brought up to scratch and I got the 6000 from Beolover who replaced the LEDs a few years back. :)

Beovox 3000s on the wall. Cable covers, though it does mean that the wallpaper is now destroyed. Wife:

Martin, not quite sure what you mean...are you asking about the cost of that particular record?

  • Warped records on a Beogram 8000

I just received a new LP and it is significantly warped. I played it and most of side A was ok but things went a little crazy towards the end! I stopped proceedings at that point. I also heard some strange sounds towards the end of another recent new purchase and wonder if that is warped too. I will certainly return the most recent one. I have a few warpies in my collection and I used to use a Michel clamp to deal with them (on my old deck). Does anyone here use a clamp on a Beogram? I wonder if

  • Beogram 800x tonearm compartment lid

Hi all, I am looking for the aluminium tonearm compartment lid for a Beogram 8000 specifically. My 8000 has one but at some point it clearly took a tumble to the floor and the bottom right corner is somewhat 'squished'. On the one hand, it's a small defect, on the other a lid in excellent condition would really finish the job on a nice looking beogram. TIA

  • Some advice please - Beomaster 6000 225x

Merry Christmas all, I've recently changed my sound system to (almost) all vintage B&O. BG8000, BM6000 and Beovox 3000 flat panel. The only remnant of my old system is the Creek preamp. I now have the 8000 hooked up to that with the output going to Tape 2 on the BM6000. This set up sounds excellent. I have also tried the DIN to RCA directly into the 6000 Phono. Sounds good too. Of course, if I want to use the Terminal remote with the 8000 I would have to use DIN to DIN into phono and ditch
