  • Beolab 5000 vs beomaster 4400

if anyone has listened to both of them then they could get a comparison i have never heard a beolab 5000 and am not sure whether it would sound better , i have looked on other forums and some people compared them but as this thread is just for one thing it should get more opinions and be more accurate and as a side note what is your current system my one is beogram 3000 from the 70s beomaster 4400 wharfedale E45s

  • interesting receiver looks like B&O

from what I can find it was made in 1970, and is 40watt per channel from Austria so I think it is just a cheap imitation of the beomaster 3000 made a year before, does anyone else know anything about this receiver, it also takes speakers as low as 4ohm so I was wandering is a lot of the circuit design is an exact or as close as legally possible copy of the beomaster 3000 ?

  • Beovox RL140, sound bad

iv just picked up a pair of Beovox RL140 type 6501 and they don't sound very good, nowhere near as good as my Wharfedale E45's , and I don't seem to be able to get the grills of, they sound a bit distorted and just not right at all, do these speakers usually sound good or are they more of a stylistic thing with the strange shape, I wanted to get the grills off to see the drivers if the foam has disintegrated will it cause this harshness and if so then there is one huge rectangular driver

  • Beogram 1800 type 5213 the rare one , slow motor

I have got a beogram 1800 that seems to work correctly but has very slow motor so I have started to dismantle the motor has anyone else had any luck fixing these motors I think it is the same one from the beogram 1000 its seems a lot more difficult to fix than the 1202 motors, there doesn't seem to be a screw to release the capstan also, the tarnish on the aluminium is there any way to get that off, manny thanks

  • Re: Beomaster 3000

the stereo light, should come on anyway unless you put it to mono, there are RCA jacks on the back you could use a mp3 player for tests, just put it in tape , try replacing the bulb and see if that makes stereo light work or put a volt meter on the contacts for the bulb and ,see if it is getting a voltage , you could swap the wires from the preamp board to the main board this would narrow down where the fault is.

  • Re: beogram 1200 won´t lift tonearm

the lifting mechanism is a disk that surrounds the arm pivot and this plate raises and lowers interacting with a post that goes through the tonearm that is adjustable you should be able to see a flat point head of the post a at the back of the tonearm Best of luck

it has always played well and sounded good in the linear mode and I left it on linear all the time but now its very high pitch so much so that its down -3.5 on treble to make it sound normal it seems odd I guess one of the components have gone faulty has anyone else had similar problems any comments much appreciated
