    What a great way to fix the Beolink 5000 remotes, there are so many out there with defective displays. It would be nice to see it as a kit for purchase.

    Check the reset circuitry and reset potentiometer 2R89 and replace it if necessary. Then perform the adjustments as per the service manual. Please note that the adjustments are very sensitive!

    I ended up designing my own gear for the CD X, CD X2 and CD3300 CD players, as the drawings on thingiverse did not fit at all. This replacement gear fits very well, as long as it is printed with high enough accuracy. While I agree with Martin that a poorly printed gear will not work well, I think a gear printed in a strong material such as nylon will be a pretty decent replacement, assuming that the tolerances are good enough and if it is printed with a small enough nozzle.     It appears the gear is available on thingiverse as both STL and Solidworks project, in case any of you want to print it yourself. (I am not the original author of this design) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4627313/files I needed to modify this design slightly to use it on a Beogram CD X. Main issue was the hole being too small when printed in PLA due to shrinkage. EDIT: After further tests, this gear does not fit my CD X very well, so I suggest finding an alternative design.
